What a view!!!!
Hi all.

A lovely few days since the last blog. We travelled up to Mt Monganui after Rotarua, in the Bay of Plenty, and the sun came out for a few days. We were dying for a bit of sun shine, and it was great that we were in this lovely beach resort. It was a really picturesc town right on the beach, and at the end of the beach was a huge mount, which you could walk up to the summit, and the views were great. We found a great campsite right on the beach, and luckily got a plot right on the front row over looking the beach, and the great surf. We enjoyed a couple days just kicking back, sitting in the sun, climbing the mount, watching the surfers, and walking the lovely town. The surf was great because they have built an artificial reef off shore, to produce the constant nice surf, but time was short, so didn't go in. We climbed the mount one afternoon, and it was so tiring. Soph was saying "im sure there is a short track up, around at the back off the mount", so we walked around the back to find a track with the warning "very steep access to peak". Nice one soph. We were too far around to walk back, so we climbed the steep path to the top, losing about 2 stone in sweat on the way up!!!!!! But the views were great, so it was worth it!!!! Lots of people were running up and down the mount for fitness, they were insane!! Also there were loads of people climbing up with huge backpacks on, and when they got to the top, they unwrapped the backpacks, and they turned into paragliders, and the guys just strapped up and ran of the edge of the cliff. it looked great fun.

We planned on getting back to Auckland today, but we thought we'd suprise connor and pick him up from school on friday, which went down well. We've had a lovely weekend with them, and are alll feeling christmasy now. Trudie has bought a new house, which is lovely, and we all move in on thursday, so the weekend we went to see the house and bought a new table etc. Sat night was nice, as we went to see a famous street where all the houses make

Our van is in the front row, the third one from the left.
a huge effort each christmas with their xmas lights. It was really magical, and the lights and decorations were unreal. The electricity bills must have been insane, but it was like a saturday afternoon in town, as there were 100's of families and kids walking the street to see the lights. Also yesterday was great fun as we went to do the Auckland luge with connor. It was just like the one in Rotarua, so we had a great laugh racing down with connor, trudie and soph. Connor was so confident for an 8 year old, and i had trouble keeping up with him.

So apart from that we are all set for christmas now, and now we are excited for it. Will be nice on christmas day with connor opening all his pressies. We have treated each other to a kings of Leon Concert in auckland arena in Jan, so that should be good. We will go out for tea on the marina first and have drinks and then head off to the gig. Cannot wait!!!!

Loving life as always but missing all the family lots now. Hope you all have a great christmas and new year.

Love you all lots and lots
love from mart and soph

Ps. The facial hair!!!!!! This was just done for a laugh as we went along on our road trip. I only kept them on for a photo, then shaved them off, apart from the christian harling special. I actually kept that on for a full24hours. God knows why, but we kept laughing all day, and i looked so silly. No one can carry that one off, apart from the man himself, ha. My favourite is the moustach, a tribute to al penwill, ha.

Conner was so busy posing for the photo at the end of the track, that he forgot to brake and crashed into the barrier. Apartently it was my fault, ha.

Check out the Tash!
Loving the tash cocksy! Especially the handle bar - you should keep that one and very Brandon Flowers for the The Muzzy!! Ho Ho Ho! Hope your both well, sounds as though you are. The view from that mountain was incredible, you could look at that all day! Me and Natalie went bed shopping on the weekend, looked at about a million, sat on millions but couldn't find one we liked, which was a tad annoying but we'll find one. Our sofas arrived the other day, all ready for this week. Should be getting the keys on Wednesday! We gave our deposit, fees etc to our solicitors on Friday which was scary, we're now skint again, but can't wait, it's so worth it! We'll do some more pics once we're in and got our stamp on the place. Anyhow, better get back to work, got that Monday-morning-before-Christmas-can't-be-bothered-to-be-here feeling but not to worry. Take care guys have a fantastic Christmas and new year but I;m sure you will. Missing you both LOADS now can't believe you've been gone for three months. Love you loads Chris and Natalie x x

Hey Guys!!!
Firstly that last message I just sent went on its on accord and I had not finished. I was saying how amzing it all looks, from seeing a Kiwi to the views from the Mount and how much I would love to have been on the front row at that camp site with those views. I'm off, I really want to travel New Zealand so a serious talk to Eric about plans is in order! Those pools look lush, but I wouldn't have been able to stick the smell of hot eggs as not keen on egg sandwiches, only pickled eggs! Soph you are so thoughtful and thankyou so much for the pressies you sent home, that means a lot. Well I have finished work now and got the flu with coldsaws all over my mouth so eeling over the moon, few days of rest and then Christmas will be here. I hsve spent an absolute fortune this Christams but I love it. I will worry about it in January. Much Love and keep us posted over Christmas. Love Laura and Eric. Projects Chritsmas do this Wednesday, Soph who will I dance with? Who will I have to get very drunk with? I will be thinking of you both while I win your raffle prizexxxxxxxxxxxx

The moustache
I tried growing one of those once, but the cat licked it off... I like it, especially the george michael esq one, think you should leave it on. The little one looks like you trimmed your monobrow and left it on your lip ha ha!!! This weekend was again full of drink, i have decided that drink is good for you as long as you dont start ringing randoms at 2 in the morning... I keep having bad thoughts about who i have rang and what i have said so i just pretend it never happened ha ha.. It was the last rugby before christmas yesterday and i dont really remember the game and neither does dad, and after our performance trying to eat at the meal yesterday you could see why!!! ha ha, it was nice tho... We were meant to have football after but was never gonna happen with the top 4 playing, so again we went out, only me and the pooks and little ash cahill, who has never been afriad of a drink, but with a dislocated knee and and plaster up to his thigh, standing up after a fair few pints is amuzing, just ask the taxi driver this morning who was cleaning sweet and sour sauce from inside his cab but that is a different story... Burgoyne came out on sat night and he stood in the over 90s section, think he is scared to dance just in case someone may seem him ha ha!! still he is a legend all the same, short week this week then off for christmas with the big party on thursday with the boys in the mutley crown, its gonna be packed... well hopefully.. Last week i was particularly woeful at football and broke the record for being sin binned, i lasted all of 15 seconds... it was my birthday, but still the guy was lightning quick and there was no way on earth i was gonna catch him, i have been labelled the white titus bramble this week, so need to raise my game ha ha!!! im glad your having a great time, its freezing here, but at least it has not rained much... Right must get back and do some work, im thinking about going out again tonight but think that might be wrong, but burgs is out, so there could be a meet after at least for a beer ha ha!!! Speak soon, love you both xxxxxx
