Not what we expected.
Greetings from sunny New Zealand, yes okay so it's raining again but it has been sunny most of the time, honest!

Back on the North Island to spend a couple of days with Mike and Paula before moving on to Australia. We would highly recommend the B&B of Mike and Paula, washing done for you, meals cooked, copious amounts of wine (or currently bellini's), and a chauffer driven service.... definitley 4 star, and no you can't have the addrress or phone number, that's only for special people!

New Years eve was quite interesting, we arrived in Franz Josef, middle of a rain forest with a darn great glacier nearby to find out there was a pimp and ho's party that night... trust us to find something like that! No we did not dress up so keep your rude comments to yourself, but there were an awful lot of men dressed as women. Meet Francis everyone!

Spent today on Piha beach walking along the black sand, watching surfer dudes getting wiped out, it was really nice until suddenly the sand got very very hot so we were all hopping about trying to avoid burnt feet (it's New Zealand, no of course we didn't have shoes with us!). We have had an amazing time in NZ, mainly thanks to Mike and Paula, and their friends: Nicky and Q and Susie and David, who have hosted us in their homes and teased us mercilessly, making us feel like we were at home with our normal friends! We of course have been terribly British and polite at all times. It will not be good to leave and can't say we are looking forward to it at all, but hopefully Australia will take our minds off of it so your next update will be from the land of the koala and Skippy.

Hope you all had a great new years eve. xx
