We arrived back in New Zealand for just over a month’s holiday for me and Charlotte. Murray was still working and also went on a security training course in Christchurch. After living in Sri Lanka for the past 2 years it took a little time to adjust. But we finished our time in NZ with some good old kiwi camping on the beach, which seemed to end our trip on a nice note.

Being back in NZ has been hard. Re-adjusting etc during a busy time. We appreciate those of you who made time to catch up with us, and hope to catch the rest of you next time 😊

Well being in New Zealand for the summer was great. Have to say we found the water a little chilly though. Murray usually in his full steamer wet suit, and Charlotte just plain refusing to go in!! We spent a few days in Tauranga with my family, a few days with my friend Kez in Whangaparoa, a couple of days with Murray’s Uncle and family up past Whangarei heads and a day with our immediate family at the batch at Cornwallis. Have to say Charlotte only managed to get in the water at Cornwallis; it happened to be the only day I didn’t get her dressed in her togs (see pics). We had such a great time on our short trips, and just loved being part of the summer beach scene in NZ.

Was nice to catch up with a few of our friends babies born the same time as Charlotte. Marcus a week younger (Angela & Bernie’s baby), and Aime 2 weeks older (Bex & James’ baby). All of them quite different even though they are close in age. Charlotte is really active, just managed to stand un-aided before she turned 8 months old. Aime seems to have managed the art of eating and can clap, go Aime!! Marcus has the most teeth, and seems to be the most vocal. Very cute!! We have loved seeing our Charlotte with her little friends 😊

Well, today we head to UK (24hr flight with an 8 month old, crazy!!). We are there for 2 weeks for orientation for Murray’s new job. So if you’re in the UK, let us know if you’re free to catch up. Then we head to Kenya in mid January for Murray’s new posting.

Hope you and your family had a Happy Christmas and we wish you all the very best for the New Year.
