Hello all
Well it's nearly time to leave New Zealand and return to UK via KL and Langkawi
We've had a great time with generally good weather but the locals tell us the weather has been much colder and unsettled than usual for the time of year.
We left Coromandel on 28th and drove north up the west coast of the peninsula to see some of the lovely isolated rugged coves and then re-traced our route down the west coast via Thames to Miranda hot springs where we spent Sat night. Again took advantage of outdoor hot springs at 38' to relax up to 10pm. Moved on top Auckland on Sunday am and arrived in time to see the Santa parade thgrough the main streets. The parade took about 75min to pass where we were standing. Packed up later and cleaned the van and on Monday am took cases to our B&B and dropped off the campervan. Went into Auckland shopping and today went to the Cathedral. Lovely stained glass windows in the new cathedral and very peaceful in the old wooden cathedral. It is the largest wooden church in the southern hemisphere and they moved it on rollers from the

Used to carve Maori canoe other side of the road to its currnt spot in the 1920's - quite a feat of engineering from seeing the photos. Have just been across the water to Devonport on the ferry.
Leaving tomorrow on flight to KL leaving AKL at 14.15 and then on to Langkawi early on Thursday am.
Will hopefully post again from our beach resort
best wishes to all
derek & Joan
