Team pic at green bay
Group picture with Lion rock in the background Most of day 5 was spent setting up the scaffolding. Mike gave us a ½ day because it was a Saturday. Mike suggested we go to Pi Hua Beach in the Northwest of Auckland. The views of Green Bay (New Zealand not the Wisconsin one) were just awesome. Our wonderful drivers Kirk and Bill had some interesting turns through the mountains to get there. We climbed Lion Rock and strolled the black sand beach. On the way back we stopped at quaint overlook restaurant called The Elevation that had scenic view of Auckland proper.
After a long day we came back to the motel and went to our Lebonese owned cowboy restaurant The Stampede (execellent food). One of the construction workers from the build site was nice enough to meet us for diner. Paul was also kind enough to show us a little Kiwi nightlife. Five of us went to the Cock and Bull pub for live music and people watching.
