A moving day again, we once again begin to consolidate our belongings and try to reduce the number of stray bags and boxes. The most direct route to Auckland takes you along the shore on the Pacific Highway. We stop for lunch at a city called Thames which is bigger than Coromandel but still has small town charm.

As our last experience in a hostel has been not the greatest, I didn't have high hopes for Bamber House, though it had got a better rating. As it turned our, the place was great. It is a huge old colonial style house in the Mount Eden section of Auckland. There is a separate modern and very well maintained house that has the family rooms. Our room is huge with a ensuite bathroom and a massive cupboard - a far cry from our last crowded experience at the Ponsonby backpackers. We pay up for INTERNET and update the blog before heading out to buy pizza for dinner.
