morning underwear shotsorry i had to.... this was the 1st morning in the Marquesas Islands, after 22 days with out seeing land.
Hiking in the MarquesesHamish and I took off for 3 days of camping, it ended up being quite an adventure.
Campsite day 1we made up some chairs with palm branches... looks very 'cast away', this actually at a beach where there's a copra plantation (dried coconuts) and the machetee baring working were very friendly.
Goat Hunt - Day 3 of HikeWe met these big Marquesan lads on the road on their way home, they took us out goat hunting... this was the landscape for the hunt.
Back at the houseMathias, Terry and his Dad. Good lads, they let hamish and I sleep over and fed us like champions. BBQ'd goat is a little chewy.
Party on Wallaby CreekMathias (middle) brought some of his mates over to the boat after dropping us off from the hunting trip. They drank the boat dry, the old yachties anchored around us were terrified... hahaaha.
Crazy bastardsThese american nutcases left the Marqueses in 2 outrigger sailing kayaks... planning to go all the way to Tahiti (800 miles) 2 days after they left a mini cyclone came through... I have no idea if they made it. doubtfull.
Crazy bastardsMe and Po, who is building a small resort where we were anchored for a few days. Awesome people in the Marqueses.
Wobbly Creekwe found the dingy under water one morning... pretty funny, and we got it all patched up, kind of.
A pearl shackAn old pearl farm in the Tuamotus Archipelago
Some more whalesThese guys followed us going west for an hour, then continued on their migration north. Good thing they were friendly, because there was about 50 of them.
what a fish. mmmmmm,Good on ya mate. This was probably the top catch that we "hamish" caught. This one must be in Alan's book.
A pod of Dolphins off the bowThough Alan tried to convince us that these damn dolphins were just eating all of our well deserved fish, we enjoyed their many acrobatic shows, day and night.
