I just wanted to share with you a little get-away near Suva. It's a rainforest park, just a 20 minute drive from the city and perfect for a quick escape from town at the weekend. I've been there just a couple of times but it is lovely and I intend to visit as often as possible. It's easy to just turn up and go for a walk among the trees, along the river and stop to admire lots of greenery and small waterfalls. Plus if one feels like it you can always jump into some of the bigger pools for a tropical rainforest swim. At the entrance there is a lodge - the Raintree lodge - where some pretty good food can be had. On Sunday they do a brunch which is especially delicious. I haven't actually stayed the night yet but it is definitely on my list of things to do, one of these days when I feel I haven't been hugging trees quite enough (that's for you Jon).
Hi! I'm Kat and I like traveling. I also like, in no particular order, films, graphic novels, basketball, capoeira, well, any kind of sport really, reading books, eating good food and spending time with my friends. I guess the place I call home is Crete, Greece but most of the time I'm based in the UK.
Update: That was me in 2007. What's changed? I'm married to the most wonderful man in the world, Guy Dominic Machito Morris and I live in Fiji! My sporting passion at the moment? Outrigger paddling. More on that in the blogs! ... full info
