Setting Sun
1st night on Robinson Crusoe island. After returning to Nadi from the awesome feejee experience, i had 4 days to kill, so i decided to head to beachcomber island, it reputation is the backpacker party island and it is heavily advertised in Nadi, but i found it to be quite trashy untidy and too touristy being herded onto the island along with the other 60 visitors they get everyday!!! you kind of feel like a sheep, 100+ bed dorm room and its numerous shaggers & snorers.
The nightlife is probably the best thing about it (apart from the amazing sunsets) but after being on Robinson Crusoe island it did'nt really measure up for me and you could tell the fijian performers were'nt really up for it either. You could see it in their eyes, like they've done this a million times. But the island gets an influx of roughly 50-60 tourists everyday so it understandable. Plus its the most expensive place costing $80/night!!! Robinson Crusoe island is a much better option.
Many backpackers i met thought the same and left early.
It did'nt really matter cos i have had a great 12 days doing the feejee experience and the seaspray cruise up to Modriki
beachlife
My attempt at trying to sell a photo to Lonely Planet. island, i am excited & looking forward to seeing my friends mike and Clarke when i get back to NewZealand hoping the country has warmed up a bit.
