The first thing that hits you when you get off the plane and walk into the steamy entrance hall in Rarotonga is the rich heady fragrance of frangipani and tiare flowers. On our tour we went to a viewpoint and got a perfect view of Muri beach.

These were common - selling fruit usually and sometimes pareus (sarongs). This one also boasted a pig!

There are no public cemeteries, so you see many family ones dotted around the island, or gravestones nearby people's houses. I was taken with this pretty little family plot.
