Catching fish on the shore...
There were so many little tropical fish, you could just scoop them up... Olivers bit:
My wobbly tooth is so wobbly, that if we were flying, and we put our window open at 9000 miles an hour, it would fall out. It is my first wobbly tooth. Every time I go past mum she wants to wobble it. Hannah thinks there is a lucky tooth fairy with lots of hair, and I don't know if she can fly to Rarotonga.
We met somebody called Conrad, he was 6. His mum had made him a brilliant boat out of a coconut husk. Conrad was really good at catching fish, and I saw a baby sword fish in the water. It was grey and yellow with a nose that was kind of curved. In Rarotonga, you can catch fish on the beach. You have to chase them up to the shore, and then pick them up and put them in your pond, which you dig in the beach. We caught black fish, we caught trigger fish and these eel things, floating quite deep - Conrad said they were too deep to catch.
We have a really cool soft top car which we can lift the lid off. When the roof is closed it leaks
Making coconut boats
Playing with Conrad, local boat builder!! down to mum's chair - so every time she sits down she gets a wet bottom.
I thought it wasn't going to be this rainy, seriously I don't want rain on his trip. We are far away as we ever could be from Wales. When we were in Bali my chess set went bendy and stuck up. But now we are in Rarotonga it has gone down again! I wonder what it will do in Wales.
Hannah's bit:
It was mad being on a plane that took off on the 13th and landed on the 12th ????Um? DON'T ask....
The reason for this (I think) is that we went over some sort of date line which made us go from so many hours ahead to so many hours behind. (which makes it really difficult to call home!)
While we've been here and its sunny we go to the beach, and while mum and dad are sunbathing we dig a big hole fill it up with water then catch fish, by either chasing them up to the shore then gently throwing them on to the sand. OR chase them on to the beach then grab them quick.
Dad's kind of rowing!!!
Not beyond the outer reef though! - Sharks!!! You can catch either baby trigger fish - which really hurt if you get spiked, or purple and orange striped fish, which sometimes have really sharp fins.
IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!! We could be doing all sorts of awesome things !! But we can't because its....its...its....RAINING. It didn't stop raining for 60 hours (2 & a half days). It was OK for the first few days then the hurricane (only a small one) came. It missed us really but was close enough to rain for 3 days. But its sunny again today hurray.

Sunny here!
Hello All, I still have the post holiday blues but at least it's sunny here. Lambs are bouncing about in the fields and the daffodils are out. I like the sound of catching fish by chasing them up the beach - sounds great fun. Don't worry the sun will shine for you all soon, love Jane x
