Hi We left Sydney Mon afternoon. One last ride on the Manly ferry a walk around the Opera house and a coffee on the Quayside with the iconic bridge in the background. Another complete change of scene and we are on my cousin Rachel and her husband Hayden s dairy farm 2 hours east of Melbourne. This is real aussie countryside. they moved here from New Zealand 3 years ago and its been a real struggle. They milk 350 cows and have had to contend with fires, floods, the milk price going down and nearly losing everything. Its slowly coming good and its fantastic to see what they have done.

The children (and Eddie and i) need a few days down time... Eddie had quite alot of work to do. Traveling with Reuben esp is fun but challenging last night we had four minutes to catch a train on platform 13... so had to run with all our luggage. Their girls Georgia and Emily have a day off school today as they were all so late last night. Our children will go with them for some days this week to Nambrok primary school Denison. Its a much smaller school than Newbridge just 90 children in the whole school so we will see how they get on. Oh by the way i forgot to mention its 35 degrees today.... They have a great pool here so the children are happily getting aquainted with their cousins. Many thanks to those of you who have sent us messages. Very much appreciated, i have to say not missing home yet just really enjoying ourselves. My knee is better so been for some great runs esp one on Manly beach and North Head at 6.30 am one day. So many people jogging surfing and enjoying life. Got to keep exercise up asi am doing a triathlon after christmas in New Zealand. Love to all Philippa et al

on the farm
Dear family, Found the farm-message. 4 minutes to catch a train, hell of a nerve. Take a restnow on the farm and after school the children can jump in the pool. Do they learn something there? The whole journey is a learning-traject, I suppose. Is the business going well? Do Ian and Maarten hold the fort well? I will open my atlas now and see where you are. Kisses Carine.
