Edit Blog Post
I know it's been a while since I've updated this blog. Lately I have been so busy working that I dont have any time to myself. Jo, the other barmaid left almost 2 weeks ago and the owners have decided not to replace her to cut back on wages and I've been happy enough to pick up as many hours as I can. The first week Jo left I worked 50 hours, this last week I picked up 60 hours. It's been a bit full on and when i'm not sleeping, i'm in the pub working. It's been great money wise but not much of a life haha. But working in the pub is very social so it's not that bad.
The last two weekends we have had an event on and i've been working the bar by myself so it's been a bit hectic and full on for me. Luckily I've been here long enough now that everyone knows me and likes me to the point where I can joke around with all the locals. One local, named Skeeta, who is hmm maybe about 60 is obsessed with me haha. He came in on Saturday night and asked if
he could pick me up after work one day and take me out to his house for a few beers and then bring me back hahahaha. THen he comes in last night and I got to sit down for a bit so he pulled up next to me and kept putting his hand on my leg and made sure to give me a hug goodbye hahaha.
We finally had the funeral for Jack last week. We all drove out to the cemetery and it was a graveside funeral. It was short and to the point. Quite a few people in town turned up to say goodbye so that was good. After the funeral everyone came down to the Railway so I had a full on day after the funeral. For a small town, I gotta say there is never a dull moment. My favorite regular Bob comes in everyday to see me. He's a sweet old man and he loves it when I give him a hand out to his little scooter.
We have had a guy staying upstairs with us who is working in town as a contract mechanic. His name is Ben and he keeps me
quite entertained. He's a young guy who always has something to say haha. He's off to Bali on Wednesday for two weeks so it will be quite quiet around here without him.
My cousin Sarah came up for a girls night on a Friday after she finished working from Kambalda. We had a great time. Ate some pizza, had some wine and then headed down to the pub. Crazy shenanigans ensued and everyone had a great time meeting my cousin haha. THey still ask about her and wonder when she's coming back for another visit haha.
Well, I have 6 weeks left in Southern Cross. I'm gonna miss the place when I do finally leave not that I get into town that much as i'm always working haha. Other then that, not much is new with me, just working to make all my money so that I can keep on travelling!

Good update to blog
You will miss that place...did you think the bar experience would be as good or are you disappointed?
