After a leisurely breakfast we set off for the the journey to the airport but as we joined the main road we could see a road train pulling into to a parking area, Shell couldn't miss the opportunity so we pulled in as well, after a brief chat with the driver and a look around his cab we were off again and enjoyed a straight forward run into Perth for our flight to Melbourne.
We dropped the car off at the airport and during their inspection they discovered a chip in the windscreen which was of course going to be subject to an additional charge (although it's covered on my hire agreement I just need to submit their invoice to get it repaid) I was annoyed but not really surprised in view of the amount of time spent driving on gravel roads with massive 4x4s barrelling past us in the opposite direction.
