Coral Bay
White sands, crystal waters....Coral Bay
Wahooo! We found a little paradise and a well deserved rest from the 6 1/2 hour daily drives. Nice little place on the beach again, I (J) loved every minute of it and so did I(H) - 4 days sat next to the glorious Indian Ocean with excellent snorkeling right off the beach, what more could you ask for? Hannah decided that she would brave the sea waters after her last trip on the sea in Cairns and on her first trip snorkeling of the beach into the water, she saw a coral ray, turtle, baby giant clam, Gill from finding nemo and lots of big fish! Plus the coral was in such a better condition and far more colourful than what we saw on the east coast!
With Hannah's confidence soaring backup, the next day we headed for the nearest dive shop and booked a snorkel trip for H and a dive and snorkel for me, sweet! The snorkel was great, off the boat and with the great manta rays. They were huge! Especially when about 4 start gliding towards you! Rough size was about 3-4 meters across, yeah big buggers! Then back on the boat

..Beautiful and time for a dive, which I was promptly told that we may see some sharks! May, I thought.... Ooops, not a may, they were also pretty huge (approx. 4 1/2 meters long), especially glad they weren't hungry! Really great experience, a must try for anyone! I (J) dived for about 55mins and I was pretty tired by the end, surprising hay?
The food from the local restaurant was also really nice, but not such a reasonable price, but hay when the foods that good we didn't mind paying a little extra! Great nights including beer and pizza on the beach, sweeeet!! And this was made all the better when we heard how cold it was getting back home!! Next stop, Monkey Mia?!
