13-2-10 Saturday ,We had an easy morning & watched the Opening of the Winter Olympics, which we enjoyed. Yesterday we had bought a new sign for the Caravan, so we put our name on & Adv before Dementia. It feels right again now, nothings missing. Ros & Robert rang , they had arrived in Perth & was it OK if they came to Rockingham tomorrow about lunchtime. We cant wait to see them again. We asked a few of the neighbours (Steve & Faye & Doreen & Tony) over for Happy Hour, which did not finish till 7.30pm, we had a nice time. We had eggs on toast for tea. The weather was 32 Deg today. 14-2-10 Sunday. Happy Valentines Day & I am thinking of all those florists working so hard. We were up early & Den went to get a few things for lunch, while I tidied up & started to prepare lunch. Ros & Robert arrived at lunchtime & we had some drinks & then had lunch, it was great seeing them again & catching up with all the news. We had not seen them for 9 months & we just took off where we left. We all
had a lovely avo & they left about 5pm. I had an early night & Den watched the cricket. It was hot today 36 Deg . Monday 15-2-10 Today is a lazy Day, we watched the Olympics & went for a walk. I rang Kirsty & she starts a new job tomorrow, so I hope it goes well for her. We had leftovers for tea.32 Deg today. Tuesday 16-2-10 I washed this morning & Den went & did a few bits & pieces & I helped Faye next door with a computer programme. By this time it was 12.30 & we had lunch & headed off to see Den’s Specialist in Perth to have his blood taken, The Dr wanted him to come back next week, but Den conned him into letting him off. He had another blood test & he gave him a letter to say what he’d done. Well Den was like a dog with two tails, he was so happy. So its home to pack up & we will be leaving tomorrow, we talked to Merry & Dean today. It was 30 Deg today. 17-2-10 Wed, We were up early & packed up & on the road
by 9.30 am, we will have to get used to packing this van as things go in different places, but we will get there. It was only about 195 km to Busselton & we booked into the Kookaburra Caravan Park ($22 a night, pensioner disc) under a big shady tree. We were lucky as we got the last two nights available as there is a Caravan Club coming into the park on Friday. We set up & had lunch ( setting up was quick & easy ) & then we went to the info centre & headed down to the Busselton Jetty, there is an underwater observatory there, wouldn’t you know it , they are rebuilding the Jetty so we could only go out a little way on it & the Observatory was closed. The Jetty is 1.8 km long, but it will be good when it is finished. The water colour was just beautiful, & there were restaurants on the foreshore, it was nice. We went back to the van & had an early tea & took the girls for a walk on the beach near the Jetty as the sun was setting. Its good to be on the
road again. The park is near the beach & we are getting a breeze, but it has been hot & muggy today. 34 Deg. We talked to Dad & Ivy, Mick, Margy, Lorraine, Brett & left a couple of messages for Corey. 18-2-10 Thurs, We were up & at it this morning, we left the girls in the air con as it was going to be 35 deg today. We headed for Cape Naturaliste to visit the Lighthouse & see some of the coastline. We stopped at Bunker Bay on the way & it was just magnificent, the colour of the water was just great. We then went to the lighthouse for a tour ($11.50) it was very interesting. After that we visited a local surfing bay, Sugarloaf Rock, Eagle Bay & Meelup Bay, all beautiful, we wished we were staying a few more days, there is so much to see here. We then stopped at Dunsborough Hotel as it was 2pm & we were hungry. It was a great pub , I reckon it would be nicknamed “The Dunny” by the locals. We shared a plate of wedge’s, sour cream & Chilli sauce & had a drink, it was
a nice way to end to a great day. We thought we should go back to see if the dogs were ok, they were & very pleased to see us. We prepared tea & then took a bottle of wine, two glasses & “the girls” to sit on the beach & watch the sun set. A perfect end to a perfect day. We got a phone call to say we could stay another night which is good. 19-2-10 Friday, Today we headed back to Dunsborough & went to Yallingup, what a surprise, great surfing beaches & ruggard terrain . We then called into Canal Rocks, which was just amazing. The boardwalk was closed for repair (just our luck) so we climbed the rocks to get a view, it was worth it. From there I wanted to go to Yallingup Maze (not a hedge maze but wooden fences) . Den got sucked right in , he had to work out how to get to the 4 corners, it took us an hour of fun & frustration, but it was good. We had lunch there & then headed home to rescue the girls. Den packed up the awning & found an ants
nest in the anti-flap awning bars. There were hundreds, out came the surface spray, hope we have got rid of them. I am lucky that we only had a few inside. We are moving on tomorrow, not sure where , Margaret River area somewhere, will try to get a free spot if we can. It was overcast & 28 Deg today. Sorry 2 pages of photos. If anyone puts a commemt on the blog can you please put who its from in the message as the names & emails are not coming up on my blog. Cheers Michelle & Dennis xxx
