Sorry I have been slack but I am on holidays if you get what I mean. I am finally up to date now. Thanks everybody for all our lovely messages. Sorry I cannot respond to each individual. Love to all. Day 64 - Monday 5 Jun e 2006 Eighty Mile Beach to Port Smith We traveled 250 km’s today. We stopped at the Sandfire Roadhouse for so called supplies. We are running low. No bread, no milk and to Graeme’s disgust no beer. We bought frozen bread, 600 ml of fresh mile (we do have UHT but the kids don’t like it) and Graeme did a deal for a slab (block - that’s what they call it) and a stubby holder for $50.00 which was quite a bargain considering. We still have approximately 150 km’s to ... read more

Kimberly Klub in Broome really turned out to be a fantastic hostel and we had so much fun there....many nice days chilling by the pool with the rest of the girls, having some drinks at the bar !! On our last day Irene and I decided to take some photos of the town...including Ayres Rock and the oldest outdoor cinema in the world!! I then left Irene in town, and she ended up having to RUN back to the hostel for fear of missing our taxi....as it turned out the airport is literally a seven minute taxi ride away! However, considering the airport is about the size of Knock or a typical Ryanair airport, it has lovely charachter and a really old style feel about it!... read more

To end our time in Broome we had a beautiful dinner while looking at the sunset over our champagne…backpackers to our core! We went to see Straight 2 the Ace in Oasis this night…well we kinda felt we had to seeing as we had told the whole world to go the night before. We had a dreadful feeling that they had performed at the Open Mike night and were horrific….however, we were proved wrong and they were actually great! http://www.straight2theace.com/pictures.php ... read more

This night Irene, Kip, Sabine and I first went to the outdoor cinema to watch “The World’s Fastest Indian”, and it was one of the best experiences. We all sat in these hammock type seats…so that when the person next to you moved you moved too. The movie was amazing, but then half way through suddenly you hear this big noise - look up just over the screen and there is a plane nearly on top of you!! The airport in Broome is literally in the town (like five minutes) so all the planes fly in really low over the town. However to see one shoot over the top of the cinema screen was really something else. We were in such a good mood coming out, then we had a few vodkas on the sly in ... read more

The park is home to fifteen thousand dangerous Salt Water Crocodiles, Australian Fresh Water Crocodiles, the exotic New Guinea Freshwater Crocodiles, South American Caimans and American Alligators. This was one of the scariest parks ever....I have found a new fear of crocodiles and one that is very well founded. They are the most vicious and evil animal that I have ever seen - and as the closest living descendant to the dinosaur they are a force to be reckoned with. We went for the feeding walk in the Broome Croc Park. The guide walks you around all the different crocodiles, including one named Santa!, and feeds them while explaining various facts about them. The “food” is chickens chopped in half and chucked at the crocs. You can spit crocodiles into two groups, saltwater and freshwater . ... read more

We went along to Murphy's Irish Bar for an Open Mike night. It was actually really good...not as smelly as the previous night!! And it actually did a decent impression of an Irish Bar and had cider! Irene, Becci and Kristy ended up heading to Nippon, getting in a fight with the bar staff...who lived in our hostel and then stealing trollies!!... read more

Hello to you all 3 moths we lived in a tent. The first month in the swaltering heat and the tropical rain, after that it turned out to be the best weather ever. We found ourselves a big shady tree down by the beach, were we watched the days go by, Siggi reading and drawing, Aaron working and relaxing afterwards, having a lovely dinner-picknick every night. In the a small town like Broome it was hard to get things organised, but as fate would have it it all fell into place in the last minute and finally after a short stop in Darwin, we sat back on the plane on the 11. of June direction India. Hallo an euch alle 3 Monate haben wir in einem Zelt hier verbracht. Den ersten Monat in unertraeglicher Hitze und ... read more

We decided to go to a karaoke night in the Roebuck Hotel….turned out to be quite amusing. This random aboriginal dude kept hopping up and singing along to everyone else. Ron did the Commitments and Irene made us to backing vocals and dancing! ... read more
