Slept later than intended thanks to C&D's German style shutters. After Vegemite on toast we left for Melbourne, handed the car back and checked in to the Travelodge. A ride on the free city tram ( did the whole circuit to get our money's worth!) We saw Federation Square, the old Treasury, Parliament House and wandered through the side streets. It was brill to see the MCG and Rod Laver stadiums, even though from a distance. Shame there's no matches to see. We sat in the sun on the south bank of the river and watched the world go by and as we write this are watching a scary movie on the big screen in Federation Square.
