we made the most of our upgrade !!!
Well its been a while sorry about that but too much New Zealand to see in a short time - so the internet has taken a back seat

Since our last blog...
We have travelled from Singapore to Melbourne, post birthday, and were treated to an upgrade to buisness class on Emirates, so we slurped champagne, tried a selection of wines, reclined and relaxed for 7 hours whilst watching a selection of films and being served a choice of meals on china with stiff napkins and metal cutlery, bar the knife which was plastic! It was lovely.

We arrived in the middle of the night and it was dam cold, from 34ish to 7, ouch. Spent the next few days shopping and sight seeing, good old Target, the primark equivalent & Aussie disposals for trousers, socks, jumpers, coats, we bought warmth!
Our backpackers was right next to a freeway, but it had a happy hour with a bottle of fizz for 3 pound fifty...choice.

We hired a car and headed on our first road trip down the great ocean road, it was splendid; big stack rocks and arches and sea and sky, we stayed at friendly backpackers and

Melbourne has some funky art around town.
ate good food
and drank great coffee.

Next, we headed inland to Bendigo to see my old college friend Pete, his wife clare and daughter ester. It was lovely to share their
house and do domestic things like level the drive, put down pavers to stop the dog escaping from the garden. Thank you to them.
Richard bought a puffer jacket for 20quid which he LOVES.

Back to Melbourne for a quick lunch with jeweller friend Vickie Mason, her hubby Tim & daughter eva, which was lovely.
Then I took Rich round a good selection of jewellery galleries, poor love.

We flew at an ungodley hour to an incredibly rainy Auckland to be met by the lovely Annie Hall, who I know from Dazzle. She lets us frequent her couch, took us to eat yummy burgers, got us into her place of work, the museum & took us to the opening of a new gallery.
Her friends' boyfriend was the photographer on show, alongside whom we consumed too much wine and ate the tastiest canapes, then went on to an indian to finish us off.

We managed to find ourselves a really cheap, really groovy converted
