Well, Ive arrived in Melbourne and was greeted by mum's first cousin Geraldine and husband Dave, plus my cousin/pen pal Abbie. It really hit home that I was in Australia all of a sudden having written and spoke to them all these years thinking about them on the other side of the world.
The weather in Melbourne was a bit of a shock to the system- the first day it poured down and we attempted a walk round a washed out hippie market called St. Andrews.
Then we headed off to the yarra valley vineyards for wine tasting. We visited three, including a kiwi winery which was a bit different, and Moet and Chandon for champagne. We managed to tag along to a tour at the latter, and finished up with 4 glasses of champagne served with bread cheese and pickles and tasting notes- yummy.
If that hadn't got me quite talkative, I then hit the town with Abbie via a house party at brother Tristans. I felt like a student again!
