HK
HK from HK Island Hi Everyone!
I arrived last night into Melbourne, our hostel is nice, its like uni halls! ha ha!
Hong Kong was good! it was a bit of culture shock ,even though English was mostly written everywhere but when it wasnt, it made me feel very helpless! We explored quite a lot though, happy to go with what looked interesting! we went to The Peak which overlooks all of Hong Kong and you travel up on a very rickety tram but you could eat up there with a view overlooking the whole place! It was really cool!
Its very smoggy though, which you only notice looking at the further away things and when you are overlooking it all! and there were signs saying to wear a mask if you have respiritory problems which all seemed a bit scary! but i thought it would feel dirtier than it was, as the public places like the shopping centres (which they love by the way: they are everywhere!) and the MTR stations were really clean!
We also got a good view by crossing to Hong Kong island on a star ferry which we did once at night and again during the
Trams
This is for dad! They were so cute and thin! day, and it was really quite something, a few of the buildings, main ones like HSBC buildings and that in the business district had new year decorations on the side of the buildings and it was so pretty, it looked pretty impressive during the day too! we ate some Dim Sum on our last day, and I think we are still scarred, it was so slimey and they looked like little aliens in their egg trying to escape! loL! we did not like it, except for the almond tea we had which was lovely! food was suprisingly hard to find in HK, ther was a lot of thai and Vietnamese and stuff but the chinese stuff was all Pig Knuckles and Fish heads, which was not happening! And still the Dim Sim episode turns out stomachs!
Needles to say, we found the shops quite soon but (mostly) resisted!
anyway I am in Melbourne (st Kilda are) now and its good! poor weather today but when the cloud breaks its warm so there is hope! and we are going to see Neighbours tomorrow hopefully! fantastic!
I hope everyone at home is well!

Anyway im off to play football under Kilimanjaro again....although its the hottest day these people have had all year so i expect to die of exhaustion. Hope to hear from you soon, have fun! x
