Wednesday morning we boarded the Miramar cruise vessel on the Brisbane River for a trip to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary some 10 miles upriver. we had an hours breezy cruise viewing the fantastic riverside homes on either bank. Some real quality houses, many with pools, verandas, sports courts and boat jetties. Seems there is plenty of money about in Brisbane.

With us on the trip were a middle aged Korean couple and their teenage daughter. Father had a quirky dress sense: bush hat with the chin strap down, buttoned formal shirt, no tie, jeans and a sparkly flecked blazer jacket. His wife and daughter were less conspicuous, or so we thought. We will call them The Gangnam's. They were a bit in your personal space sort of people without actually being loud, always in your eyeline or camera view. The sort of people you notice in Asda and are in every aisle you're in.

Anyway we had amble around the sanctuary looking at the koala's, wallabies, kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, parrots, a birds of prey display and a sheep shearing display, all very entertaining. <br style="color: font-family: Helvetica; font-size: medium; line-height: normal; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.296875); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469); -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;" />On the way back the Gangnam's were again close to us even though there was plenty of room elsewhere on the boat. Relaxing in the sunshine Dave and I were dozing in our seats on the back deck. All of a sudden there was a terrible loud sound akin to an elephant being sick as someone drew up the biggest grolly from the bottom of their boots and proceeded to launch it over the stern and into the river where it must have caused a hazard to shipping for days! Actually I knew exactly what it was as I'd witnessed Mrs, yes MR'S Gangnam summon one up in the park. This didn't stop me being lifted from my chair in surprise as she was next to my right ear! I made a meal of spinning round looking up in the air, over the side and all around before my gaze settled on Mrs G as she smacked her lips and wiped a forearm across her mouth. She was totally unfazed. The four other passengers on the deck with us were equally gobsmacked and knowing smirks were exchanged. I had to turn away and in doing so caught Dave's eye. No words passed our lips but as one we began to grin. I had to bite my lip for 10 minutes for fear of bursting into fits of laughter. We'll put it down to a culture clash. It brings a whole new meaning to Gangnam Style😊 The day was completed with Kangaroo steaks, excellent, like venison.Next day we walked the 2 miles to the Morgan and Wacker Harley Davidson dealership, the oldest HD dealership outside the US, dating back to 1917. (Dave and Sue were happy to come along although I did give them the option not to.) not much stock but some nice bikes as usual, prices much the same as at home and plenty of stash to buy😊 Tee shirt and patch for me😊 I did admire the crocodile skin seat complete with 3 foot tail! Might have been a bit ostentatious for my bike though and I doubt I'd get it through as hand luggage! Melbourne and Sydney HD vast ill to visit😊

On Friday it rained!! well drizzled a bit, enough for us to put on raincoats and wander in and out PDF the shopping malls, bumping into rugby types as we went: Ian McGeechan, Jamie Roberts, Tom Croft and at the City Beach Leigh Halfpenny, Owen Farrell and Jonathan Sexton having a warm down after kicking practice. Back home for a warming Beef curry with all the trimmings.
