After 14 months travelling and living in Latin America I was ready to head home, catch up with my wonderful family and friends and lay low for the next 6wks whilst organising my work visa for the UK.
Well I didn't exaclty lay low, I don't think I actually had a day to myself. Though I am not complaing. I LOVED catching up with everyone!
My first day back in Melb, my bro, Tim, picked my up from the airport and we headed straight down the coast to Fairhaven, AKA Fairys! It was a relaxing wkend of drinking and eating... standard! I was pretty tired and not up for too much after my long flight home. It was so nice to be down the coast, I thought about Fairys a lot when I was away. It's nice to escape down there every so often. You feel instantly relaxed when you are out of the hustle and bustle of the city and by the water! It was nice to spend some quality time with Tim as I had missed him most of anyone while I was away... Don't worry I missed you too Mum and Dad 😊
While I
was at home I had one of my best friends, Claire's, birthday drinks at a wicked fun bar in St Kilda, next to Pelican, which was a great catch up with close friends.
A grade 6 reunion (14yrs on) that my friend Samantha organised which was such a fantastic idea. There were about 20 peops who came along to the Royal in Ferntree Gully. Mainly the boys, great turn out from the boys, though the girls were a bit of a disappointment. Sam put so much effort into organising the night and got in touch with so many people, and organised way in advance but I guess some people are slack, and ungrateful! I know everyone who went had a FAB night, and really enjoyed catching up with each other! THANK-YOU Sammy for organising the night, it really was such an AWESOME time!!
I visited my friends Emma and Caitlin who have both had beautiful bubbs, Caitlin and Johnny have little Lachlan who is now about 4mths young, and Emma and Shiloh have lil Matilda who is about 6mths. Both GORGEOUS bubbs. I had such fun getting to know them. Still amazes me that they are both Mum's,
and beautiful Mum's at that.
I had a fun day at Collingwood Children's Farm with Edwina and her gals, Rosie and Evie. Two beautiful gals full of bounce, very different from one another. Very inquisitive as kids are. We played with baby goats, held guinea pigs, patted horses, observed baby chicks and enjoyed feeling like we were in the hills though we weren't far from the city. Such a fun spot for kids to explore!
I visited St Andrews market Chai Tent a couple of times and chowed down on a couple of Bratwurts! So good! I love FOOD!! I didn't drink any chai, however it is such a nice gathering area to meet and greet friends, and new comers. I just love being in that part of the world. You feel so removed from any hatred, war, and/or mysery up there. Everyone is happy and enjoying life, it is peaceful with a beautiful surrounding of trees and wildlife. It's heaven! Loved spending time with Aunty Mary, Tom, Nash, Louise, Jenny and Mum!
Grand Final Day in Gee-Town at Merridee and Matt's with Rin Tin Tin was AWESOME! What a fun fiesta to be home for!! CARN
THE HAWKS!! It was fun being one of about 3 Hawthorn supporters among about 40 Geelong supporters!! Go Shane 😊 Number nine you are fine!!
I spent a night a day up in the hills, good ol' Belly South, with friends and old neighbours (more like family) up there. It was one of the highlights of my time at home. It was so nice being with the three gals (Kate, Sarah and Amy) I grew up with and always saw as the sisters I'd always wanted, and their kids who I class as nieces and nephews. Oliver and Henry have grown into such bright, bubbly, intelligent, delightful young boys. Chloe is so interested and curious and has such a big, contageous smile and just loves being one of the boys 😊 And the three bubbs, Isaac, Lilly and Grace are all such happy, smiley babies. It really was so nice get to know the kids and be a part of their lives, even if it was just for a couple of days. Gals you will always be family to me, I am so glad we organised some time together b4 I shot off again!! LOVE YOU ALL LOADS!!
I had a weekend with the fam at Fairys, which once again was wonderful. Mum and I had a long walk along the beach, we played tennis, pool, fussball, drank, ate, played Mexican Trains (a fun but a lil confusing game, that Mum loves), it was a fun wkend catching up on the last yr or so apart. I love spending time with Mum, Dad and Tim. It's always a laugh going to Fairys together!
My friend Dave and I swam for the last few wks before I left for London. We swam at the Harold Holt pool, and did 1km or more each time. Power house! We also had fun gossiping about and laughing at different people at the pool. On a few occasions we ended by having a beer, red bull or eating. Always a good way to end a swim 😊 I had so much fun hanging out with you Dave, so many laughs! ATS!! ''I wanna see you dip dip dip, now let me see you rock rock rock...'' 😊
Annalie I loved our white wines on the balcony!! So fun spending time with you babe! And Claireness, though we didn't catch up much
when we did it was WONDERFUL! Lains n Carl, thanx for the FAB bbq and red bulls, always good times with you both!
Thank-you to everyone who dropped in, or stayed till late 😊 at the Belgium Beer Cafe. Was such a great Sunday sesh, thanx to Mum - it was her FAB idea to have drinks at our fave Sunday beer drinking spot!! Beautiful weather and a great turn out! Andrea, Amy and Junior, was so fun to hit up the Espy and then Archies with you all!!
Tobz and Nat, I so loved catching up with you both! Nat dinner was DELICIOUS!! Really enjoyed having the night with you both!
Tim, your Thai cooking was also amazing, actually the BEST Thai I have had out of Thailand. Seriously, loved it... shame I chowed down before hand and spoiled my appetite a bit, ATS!! 😊 Love you bro!
The last night before I flew out, Tim, and my friend Rin and I all headed to Torquay to meet up with some other mates, Laura and Jason (always good times with all of you, Rin you're amazing, Jase and Spence it was great to see your
house totally taking shape and to laugh lots with you both!), to see the wonderful Blues musician Ash Grunwald play at the Torquay pub. Though we had to line up for a rediculously long time out the front of the pub, it was a great night and a fun way to end my time at home. Great music, good beer and fun company!
If I have missed anyone I am sorry... it really was SO fantastic to catch up with all my special friends and family at home! I think of you all ALWAYS!! Love you all so MUCH!!!! xoxoxoxooxxooxoxox
Mum, Dad and Tim I love you all more than anything!! Thank-you for all your love, support, care, understanding and GENEROSITY while I was home!! Big hugs and kisses to the three of you!! XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
