Well after messing about and repacking for a while we had lunch looking at lake wendouree and then drove on to our campsite at the Grampians.
It began raining as we were nearly there and was piddling down as we looked at the pitch we had booked which was at the bottom of a gentle slope with stream running through it. Right through it!
So we wandered around and found another pitch and began getting the camping gear out.
At this point Brian noticed that I had mud all over the back of both legs as I smeared myself getting out of the car.
Some choice words were exchanged but we were still reasonably cheerful and proceeded to back the car into position- well Brian backed and I was supposed to guide him in. More choice words! I admit I'm not good at this "left hand down a bit" but after nearly hitting a tree and a fence we were ready. By now it's raining with gusto and my newly acquired mud was starting to run,
So we unloaded the gazebo and began to put it up when it became apparent that it was the wrong one and was not
compatible with any of the accessories we had!
Arghhh!!! The only bit of kit not tested and it's wrong!!!!
It would be unfair of me to point out that Brian bought it but he assures me the sales assistant was to blame.
Anyway it stopped raining long enough for us to put it away so we now find ourselves at Halls Gap YHA and need to get the bloody thing replaced before we can go on.
So tomorrow should be interesting and Day 2 and the itinerary has already gone to cock.
Never mind there is s pub and I would rather get the teething trouble sorted now.
