At 9.30 am it was already too hot to go for a walk, but as it was our first day in Bendigo we walked around the botanical gardens and the path along Bendigo Creek - there must have been water in there somewhere but all we could see were reeds and weeds. The male and female stone lock-up. The huge prison in the middle of town, which looks like a castle and which held Ned Kelly for 3 years, is now in private ownership.

Great Blog
Good story telling. And good information on where you have been and what you have seen. Envious of your travels around Australia. Like you, I love the wine districts. Don't forget the RSL's, social clubs, sports clubs for, usually, good food and comany. But you sure can't beat the friendly caravan parks. Will be following your journey with interest
