That's me and Han.
Can you spot the props? BTW, that's Leroy the family dog, not a dingo. LOL Wonderful breakfast
Pancakes, ice cream and syrup.
Yummy for tummy!
We had an entertaining time last night. The five of us piled into Yasmine's car and headed into town. Our first stop was at the pub where Han's friend was having a going away bash and also her friend's band was playing for the event. We got there before the band was up so we grabbed some drinks and headed to the second floor to sit on the couches and chill. We eventually moved downstairs where we found some seats by the dance floor and stage.
Soon enough the band came on. It was sort of metal-type music. No idea what the lead singer was singing and I found it strange that one guy playing the guitar had his back to the audience the whole time. Then as a few more songs went by it looked like each member of the band was in their own little World. Han's friend Reese plays the drums and was actually pretty good in my opinion.
After a while the five of us got up and went to check out the Bendigo night scene. Maybe some dancing is in the cards? We
That's me, Brit and Owen.
We're sort of covering the amazing shelf but take my word for it that it is simply amazing. Oh yes, and my little troll friend, Brit gave her to me as a little going away gift... ended up at one place and listened to a bit of the music for a while and then Han and I and her friend Dale went back to the dodgy pub while the three girls went to the dance club a few doors down. We eventually met up around 1AM I think and headed back home.
Rachel and Katherine were a bit drunk and it was funny listening to their banter and their singing in the car. A video camera would have been handy cuz it really would have made for some good film footage, that's for sure. When we got back to Han's we ate a little something and then watched a couple episodes of the British sitcom The Office before going to bed. Hilarious!
I woke up this morning before 10AM and nobody else was awake so I decided there was no better time than the present to download some photos onto the blog.
Soon enough everyone was up and about. Yas and Han whipped up some pancakes which we ate outside since the sun had come out. They were so delish with vanilla ice cream and maple syrup. Mmm.
After a bit of digesting we headed into town where the girls wanted to do a little shopping and check out the sales. I only had about 1/2 hour or less so was only able to check out the Body Shop. Just enough time to find a nice moisturizer "tester" for my hands since they are pretty dry from the colder weather.
There was a bit of confusion contacting Brit via text messaging with my phone. Messages seemed to be going through but weren't and vice versa. Brit and Owen were a few minutes late to the train station and when I called their cell nobody picked up so I left a message saying I'll be back at my hostel. Low and behold who do I see waiting outside the hostel but Brit and Owen! Whoo hoo!
I quickly checked in. Well, tried to be quick but reception was a little busy so it took longer than expected. Plus I had to make two trips up to my room because I had my stuff in several bags and it was sort of awkward trying to bring it all up in one shot. Then the second time down the elevator there was a guy that started talking to me in another language. Couldn't quite pick up what he said. So I say pardon me? I think he was trying to hit on me! lol I had to run off because Brit and Owen were waiting for me...great excuse to run from scary man! lol
We went back to Brit and Owen's place for some tea and a rousing game of Monopoly. But not before checking out the exciting worm composter out back.
Today is Owen's Birthday and Monopoly was one of his gifts. It was interesting to check out the new board and to be playing with the British version as opposed to the American version that I am used to playing. They even have a new playing piece...a money bag. lol We played for what I'm guessing about 1/2 hour when Brit's friend Jane who is in town for a concert came over. She joined in on the Monopoly madness.
Then Jane wanted to get ready for the concert so the game pretty much ended. But there wasn't much of a lull in excitement because before too long there was a knock on the door and a shelf that Brit purchased earlier in the day was delivered. Excitement! Owen and Brit quickly stocked the shelves with books, vinyl albums and Brit's teapot collection.
Brit and Jane headed off to their concert but not before dropping me off at my hostel. I'm really glad to have had the chance to meet up with Han, Brit and Owen one more time before I leave Melbourne tomorrow morning. Always refreshing when you're able to meet people in life that are truly great people and these three would definitely fit into that category. I can't wait until our paths cross once again in life. 😊
