Hobart
Arriving home.. Howdy All!
Back in the hot seat I guess. Tokyo has been exactly what the doctor ordered, a big smack around the chops to get us back in action and renew our energy for some more travel. Tassie became a little too comfortable and I thought I was never going to leave the couch at mum and dads place.
It’s been 3 months since we last did a blog entry, the last one covered our time in Ecuador, so we have been home for a while! It was like a nice big holiday from our intense travel schedule which is ideal with such a long stint (you need it) - I can see a lot of you tense up and get agitated here, you are already green enough with envy - no really, cos travelling is not easy ok, not easy at all, it requires a lot of planning/administration and it can be physically challenging as well, not to mention unpredictable - a far cry from our daily rituals, right? Anyway, being home was awesome, it was great to see everyone and to have plenty of time to do it. Leaving this time around was definitely a lot harder,

walking Hazards beach, on our way to Cooks beach camp ground we got really comfortable with what we miss most when we are away.
Anyway, we did get up to a bit whilst we were home… we were fortunate enough to explore our state in a little more detail. We hiked the Overland Track (6 days, 80kms…a trek through the centre of Tasmania from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair), it was great fun and I now understand why it is considered one of the best bush walks in all of Australia.. A must do for all Taswegians and anyone else who is visiting! We also did The Freycinet Circuit which is a great walk too and has some awesome views of our iconic Wineglass Bay, listed as one of the worlds top ten beaches - a little fact there for some of you back in the UK. We also took a few days out and drove up our rugged west coast to explore some areas that we hadn’t seen before… and, we had a trip over to Mt Hotham in Victoria for some fun in the snow with mates which was perfect - fresh tracks too! So even though we were home we carried on with some exploring in

Cooks Beach area, looking back towards the Hazards. And yes, that was text book rock skim.. our own backyard… and I have to say what a mighty fine backyard it is. Having seen a few different parts of the world now I can honestly say how lucky us Taswegians are to have such a beautiful island that offers loads of stuff to do, and it is not inundated with people like most other good places - well not yet anyway!
I’m going to keep this one short - there has been too much time lapsed to go in to finer detail. Anyway, I have just uploaded 32 photos that do some good story telling for us. I do have to explain however, for record purposes, that since travelling thru Ecuador we did actually fly to Santiago, Chile, where we spent 5 days before flying back to Australia where we actually spent a few days in Sydney before eventually flying on to little ol' Tassie!!
As I finish this blog we are actually now in Hong Kong. Had a random one last night. We went to dinner which lead us on to a comedy club and then we ended up going out with all of the comedians, well kind of, we spent most of the

sunset at Cooks beach night at a 7-11 party! That is, drinking outside a 7-11 in one of the busiest strips in HK. A really good night!
Well, until next time!
