hello from very down under.
as i was in melbourne and tassie is so close, my pohm melbourne based friend lauren, suggested i go here.
and it was well worth it.
small island. 500k pop.
looks like ireland. v.lush and green. but very amazing in its landscape.
spent 5 days there. weather was great in place where it can be all seasons in one day. (like ireland then!)
on a 3 day tour.
went to wineglass bay in the freycinet national park. beautiful stuff.
stunning mountain scenes and beaches.
next day went up mt.wellington that overlooks hobart and areas, with snow.
and mt.field (NP) where theres alpine trees, temperate rainforests and snow all together!

and last day port arthur where the worst convicts (pohm's) resided. not much remains but it was a big town really and set in a lovely and secluded area. only 3 men escaped but i think they were caught again.

great history, beautiful landscape, good pinot noir and small population.
oh and the freshest air in the world. the lycan told me.

go,go,go to tasmania.
