Freycinet walks
The best we have to show for our visit! Geo: -42.1213, 148.286
We left early for the 5hr drive to Freycinet on the central East coast. Looking forward to more lovely landscape views and a 2hr walk to Wineglass Bay.
We were delighted to see a couple of un-squashed echidnas on the drive and are also pretty sure we glimpsed a Tassie Devil crossing the road!
At Freycinet the rugged terrain and pretty bays were mostly obscured by low cloud and fog. Bummer. We spent some time in the visitor centre but decided the poor visibility precluded any sightseeing walks. Instead we parked beside the wharf and ate lunch while peering across the bay in the gloomy rain.
Later, on the way south to Hobart we stopped at Devil's Corner vineyard and bought a couple of wines after a pleasant chat with the staff.
