Murray River area

We loved it so much here we booked in for another night.
Hi
We are now at Mannum, Allen and Marijke flew in to Adelaide today, and we will begin our Murray cruise tomorrow.
We have enjoyed travelling for the last week beside the Murray River. There are some lovely spots here, and we have been in some great caravan parks beside the river. We take our wine and seats to the river edge about 5pm, and watch the sun go down. We have met some nice people. The temperatures have been all over the place, we had 35 degrees yesterday.
We saw our first snake on Friday. We were at Blanchetown , looking at Lock 1 and the lockmaster we were talking to spied a Brown Snake coming towards us on the lawn. He yelled at us, which was just as well as we hadn't seen it! It was very poisonous, so he killed it! It is very dry here, unless irrigation is in place. There are many vineyards, citrus and berry plantations, etc and some lovely rose gardens.
Again having trouble with the computer, so will publish this in two goes, will try the photos and map separate.
We are having a great time, loving every minute.
Cheers Lynne

WOW!
Your photos are fabulous Lynne. Never realised there were so many locks and weirs there. EEEk! the snake would have freaked me out! Rose gardens look lovely. Certainly looks dry but a lovely area. Maybe we could sell them some rain or do a trade for sunshine! Have fun!
