Waves Don't Scare Easily
...but at least i tried. I remember this past week, my last full week on this isle del kangaroos, dragging on and on like the old, brown Chevrolet Caprice Classic station wagon we had when i was a kid. the thing just wouldn't die. Now that the week is over, done with, dead, it seems like a blur.
I didn't do a whole lot: a bit of grapevine pruning, a bit of gardening, a bit of fencing (the post and wire variety, not the enguard! Touché! have at you! stuff...duh). Some of you may be asking, "does bryan ever do more than a bit of this; a bit of that? what the heck?" and to that i say...stop asking questions. Teresa left on thursday because...well, because she wanted to go somewhere else. We wish her the best.
Saturday Bob and Lorraine took me for a drive along the south coast. We stopped at D'estrees Bay to have lunch and a look around. Yes! more BEACH photos! I can sense your excitement! Now, in my defense, Kangaroo Island can be accurately described, as anyone who's been keeping up with my entries will know, in two words: Scenic Beaches. These scenic beaches seem to be the
i'm going to miss her
her name is Kaoru..not Kairoo..my apologies. only thing Amy's camera wants to take pictures of...so i let it. With that being said and without anymore lame excuses from me, i just want you to know that i am well aware that my last entry was a bit overkill with the beach photos, so i'll go easy on you...THIS time.
D'estrees Bay is nice. i'm running out of ways to describe these beaches to you...beautiful, stunning, picturesque, brilliant, gee golly swell, whatever...they're nice. This particular beach has a sea eagle's nest, rocks, more rocks, shark eggs, and cool cave-ish cliff overhangs. don't believe me? i took pictures of all of the afformentioned, just so you can't call me a liar. Also, as per Amy's request, i've posted more pictures of ME. All of which were taken by ME. i usually don't post many, if any, pictures of ME because it's a hassle to get pictures of yourself when you're always the one holding the camera....if you do the "i'm holding the camera and pointing it at myself but trying to make it look like i'm not" thing then you always get the same picture from the same angle and everyone knows you took it yourself. i
Sea Eagle's Nest
the nest is atop the green patch...i scared the eagles away. sorry. can't bring myself to do that, but i do aim to please, so i painstakingly set up the camera (sometimes having to wedge sticks and rocks underneath it to get the right angle), put it on timer, and hurried into place...what a freakin' hassle! just for YOU!
We went further down the coast to watch surfers get pummeled by large waves and then drove home. Oh plus i found a large Sydney Turban shell. Bob said, "You usually don't find them that large." but since this is the only one i've ever found, and it is in fact "that large", then technically, i DO usually find them that large, don't i? yep.
Nothing else happened!
i leave for Cairns on wednesday. everyone keeps telling me how much i'm going to love it in Cairns and the Whitsundays and how i'm not going to want to leave because it's so nice and warm and beautiful and everyone wears beach clothes year-round. Sounds absolutely terrible...horrific even. maybe i should just skip it and go home early? yeah all this hanging out on majestic beaches is really tiresome.
no i guess i should go so that i can keep

lots of poop and feathers and sticks...no eggs. this thing going and you people can have something to occupy yourselves with while you're at work instead of..oh, i don't know...actually working. hah!
Dinner bell!
See ya!

must have been a boring week, cause that entry was totally....... exciting. Actually, thanks for the bryan photos but seriously BE MORE CAREFUL. Falling off a cliff would not be cool, member we went over this. Man, you don't listen well. Sweet jacket though, did Bob and Lorraine give it to you? Sounds like the Whitsundays will be awesome. Robert is EXTREMELY jealous but he was saying that he's really glad you did this trip. Good to see someone really living their life. Have fun mi hermano!
