....the Ghan....fantastico!

...well, back in Gawler after 52 hours on the Ghan travelling the 3,000 ks from darwin to Adelaide. What a great experience. Food and company was terrific.

Spent the last 2 days in Darwin at the Casino pampering ourselves....very nice.

The train stopped for 4 hours in Katherine and Alice Springs to let passengers do the 'tourist thing'. We just bummed around in Katherine but we went camel riding in Alice.....and it was really good fun. It was a pleasant 21 degrees, sunny and zero flies.

Food on the Ghan was fantastic....but far too much for us. 3 courses every meal.....plus morning tea (today).

Sleeping was fun in our bunk beds but it was all good.

Last day tomorrow with the run to Paky.

Our friend met us at Darwin raliway station and gave us 300 camera shots from where we were both travelling together so that was terrific for us.
