Day 4
7am start again. Said goodbye to the Alice folk and headed to Emily Gap along the Ross Highway. We stopped there for a little breakfast. A long drive today and extremely tiring. I was only doing between 80-95km per hour. I felt rejuvenated when I hit the SA border. Fuelled up at Marla and bumped into a family having a sea change to Kunnunarra. The wife is going to be a trauma nurse there. We stopped frequently as well. We didn’t reach Coober Pedy until around 5.30pm. We pulled into P Deane’s Comfort inn and were pleasantly surprised to see Yianggo, Alayne, Grace and Nickolaos Amanatidis. Even more surprised when I found out there were working at the inn to help Debbie and P Deane for a few days. We were fortunate to be able to get the very last room available which is room 12. I was very tired and looked forward for a change from setting and sleeping in the camper. We had a meeting that evening at 7pm with P Deane presenting a DVD on the gospel story told and sung by Johnny Cash. It was also Yianngo’s birthday. After the meeting we went to the Pizza place at Coober Pedy for some late dinner. I was very tired and needed a good night sleep so said our goodbyes that evening.
