Today we drove from Quorn to Port Augusta via the Pitchi Richi Pass. We saw some lovely scenery along the way.

After a brief visit to Port Augusta (so as we could say we had been there) we drove on to Auburn. We stopped at a lovely little town called Melrose to have lunch. This little Town is at the base of Mount Remarkable. We had a wander around the Town, exploring, and then set off towards Auburn.

We drove through the towns of Georgetown and Laura and noticed how the landscape was changing. The fields were beautiful and green and there was plenty of rich farmland. Sheep and lambs were grazing.

As we drove on to Clare we started to enter the wine country. This area is situated just north of the Barossa Valley and there were lots of vineyards.

We found a lovely camping ground at Auburn which is alongside an oval. There was a largish area, lovely grass and lots of trees. There was only a few powered sites, and they were on a small gravel area so we chose to go with unpowered tonight.
