We had an early call in the morning since most of the day we would be on the bus headed to Adelaide. We were packed and ready to go, and were on the bus early so we could get our double seats back. We drove for about an hour to a spot where we were suppose to go on an hour hike Mount Zero, but since it was raining, it was too dangerous to hike. The hike was to be a little strenuous and had some rocks we would have to scramble over. The damn German girl asked if there was another hike we could do instead. There was, but it was to nothing and all we did was get wet in the rain. Kirsten, miserable with her cold and sore throat getting worse elected to stay in the van, which was smart.
The hike was quick and we were back in the van for another hour. We took lots of stops for tea and coffee. The two things you can actually get free at a lot of places in NZ and AUS, the two drinks that we don’t drink. We could have done without all the coffee breaks that would

Check out the pouch last 30 minutes here and 30 minutes there. Lunch was a new experience; we parked at a truck stop and ate outside, in the cold and had a lunch of cold, unheated quiche. It was awful. Kirsten didn’t even eat it. She made a tuna sandwich. It was after this lunch that the German slapped Kirsten’s hand when we tried to clean the lunch dishes. It was absolutely ridiculous. Kirsten puts the wash bowl down and right as Kirsten grabs a plate to put in the water, the German runs over to her and slaps her hand and won’t let her put the dish in the water. Kirsten quickly walks away and says she’s out. After lunch dishes are cleaned and the van is loaded, we of course have to wait for another coffee break inside the truck stop.
The last stop was right before we traveled into South Australia. First we had to stop and throw away all fruit that we had. They don’t want the fruit flies from the north part invading the south. Sophia couldn’t stand to watch Avril throw any fruit away so she quickly ate the left-over food. At our last stop we did get
to see some white kangaroos. They are not albinos because their eyes are not red, they are just a different breed of kangaroos. They actually looked like huge rats. Since it was really cold and rainy we didn’t last long and were back on the van and headed in Adelaide.
Once in Adelaide, we were dropped off at our hotel and said good bye to our new friends. This was the same hotel we were supposed to stay in 3 days ago but our flight was 8 hours late. We picked up our luggage that we stored and headed to our room. Our hotel was in the China Town section so of course, what do we have for dinner? Yes, Italian. After a long day of driving we were ready for the nice accommodations that only the Hilton can provide! Kirsten’s throat is feeling better, but a cough has developed and she’s still miserable.
