Week 3 - Adelaide

The next 5 days were spent in and around Adelaide itself. After having driven so far, it was nice to just spend a few days sleeping in and taking leisurely half day drives. Adelaide itself if one of my favourite cities - settled by free settlers, it has a very "English" feel to it.
We spent our first full day just walking along the Torrens River and doing a bit of shopping. The next day we headed up to the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley, visiting the toy factory at Gumeracha along the way. We headed down to Victor Harbor late one afternoon and spent a chilly evening on a tour of the nearby Granite Island, viewing the Fairy Penguins.

After a relaxing few days, we headed back home on a late afternoon flight, having spent 3 weeks traversing the continent from north to south. Everyone agreed that it was a fantastic family holiday and one that we'll all remember for life.
