Savannah Way (between Normanton and Burketown) Karumba - Adel's Grove - Lawn Hill (Boodjamulla) National Park The Qld Parks online booking system showed no vacancy at the Lawn Hill National Park campground, but Adel's Grove is only 10km from the National Park. Karumba to Adel's Grove is about 500km and I expected a lot of it to be unsealed. There was more bitumen than I though there would be and the dirt road was not too bad most of the time. There are a couple of ways to get there and we decided to go through Burketown (just to have a look), and we had a roadside lunch break near a waterhole at Running Creek. It was a nice little waterhole, but is was spoilt by people leaving their rubbish around and using the surrounding tracks as a toilet stop.
Arriving at Adel's Grove we had time to setup camp, start dinner, and go for a walk along the creek. The caravan park has sites along the creek designed for campers and tents, and a separate section for caravans and campers who have dogs or generators. It should be nice and quiet at night 😊
Lawn Hill National Park is beautiful. We did three

Savannah Way (between Normanton and Burketown) of the seven walks, and the gorge cruise - see pics... The road into the park was very ordinary and we slowed down to 20km at times. The grader was working while we were walking though, and it was much better on the way back to Adel's Grove.
Tomorrow we head towards Borroloola...

TA! That helps
Thanks for the route plan, that helps. Looking at that last lot of photos I remembered how blue the skies are out there without the pollution, not to mention the night skies. You will have to try a long exposure night time shot while you are far from interfering human lights.
