For the past week we have had fun exploring the Cairns area and soaking up the warm sun. It is a beautiful area full of lush rainforest, wonderful mountain ranges and long stretches of sandy beaches. We have been up to Port Douglas a few times. On one trip we did a day sailing and snorkelling trip of the Great Barrier Reef. We saw some amazing coral gardens. Port Douglas is a lovely little town. We also spent some time watching kite surfing at Yorky's Knob beach. One day we travelled north of Port Douglas to an area called the Daintree where we did a hike through a rainforest at Mossman Gorge. We also enjoyed strolling along Wonga Beach and doing a hike at Davies Fall. It is sad to have to leave such a beautiful area.
