Just getting on the Boat Great Barrier Reef trips are expensive and as the weather was a bit iffy I got told to go to the outer reef to Agincourt reef which has really good visibility and is sheltered from the wind so I booked with a company called Silversonic. The day was brilliant and I loved every minute. I had decided to take a sea sickness tablet before I got on the boat and although I did feel a bit queasy I wasn't sick, thank god. I had booked to do another Intro Dive on the tour as well as snorkeling. I would of loved to have done my Open Water Course but I haven;t enough money or time so I figure I will do that another time. It was expensive but the boat was quick and meant you got more time in the water. It took an hour to get out to the reef and the weather was perfect. I was worried as there was a few really bad days and rain just before. There were so many people traveling alone and doing this trip so I got chatting to loads of people. The dive was really good and I even managed to clear

Getting ready to dive my mask and change my regulator in the water which I didn't do on the last dive in Thailand. We seen loads and it was really good. Not sure though if it beats some of the other snorkeling in Asia..... you forget what you have seen but it was still worth it and at least now I can say I have dived the Barrier reef now!!! I was really pleased afterwards that I did it and I really want to do some more in the Whitsundays if I get the chance. I snorkelled the other two sites and was absolutely knackered by the end of the day. The Silversonic tour is definitely one for being in the water rather than a relaxing cruise trip. I got back to the hostel and packed ready to leave for Mission Beach for my White Water rafting the next day on my first Greyhound bus trip (only 2 hours)!!!. Oh I am a real thrill seeker ha ah. Still can't manage to throw myself off a plane though which another thing lots of peole do in Mission Beach.
MISSION BEACH
Mission Beach is dead, there is nothing there, it is a tiny little

Spitting in my mask town that is only famous for its sky diving and rafting at the Tully river. I stayed at a place called SCotty's which is a great little hostel and probably only one of 2 or 3 good ones there. I met loads of people there. The kitchen / dining area is a really social place and there is nothing to do, you can't swim in the sea so everyone just stays around the pool so you all mix really well. We went out to the main bar in the centre of town to watch a live act. APparently he has been signed by Warner and is going to be the next Jack Johnson. He was really good and eventually the place filled in a little. The owner had put on a free transport and wine for each of the hostels to get people down there. No wonder!!!! Without all the backpackers there would have been no-one there!!!
I didn't drink too much as I was going rafting the next day. It was AWESOME!!!! I was a bit worried as a few people had banged there heads and a girl broke her nose doing it a few days before. It

Yippeee....I can DO IT was a t the Tully River which is meant to be one of the top 5 places to go rafting which is quite impressive. We got there and had to sign a disclaimer basically signing away your life!! They mentioned "Death" about 5 times in the document so I was getting worried. It was fine though and really exciting. There were 6 of us in the raft and we all had to learn certain moves which the instructor would shout so he could steer the raft through the rapids. It took us a while to get a good rythm going but we got there in the end. They were Grade 3 & 4 rapids and we got pretty wet. It was such good fun. We jumped off some pretty high rocks too into the river which took some heavy persuading for me to do.
I now want to see where you can go rafting in England!!! Love it!
