hi everybody!!!!!

i know you all have good summer time and so did i. i don't really remember everything wht was going on in July after completing the dive course in Cairns but in short I'll do my best.
well, it didn't go the way i wanted. because i wanted to go outack by motorcycle but no rental company in Cairns wanted to rent one for offroad. supposedly too many accidents.
so i joined a really nice Danish couple, Jeppe and Anne who i met on the course. they had their own jeep and a plan to see some outback. so we left together!!!
first we went to the very touristy cape tribulation, but apart from rainforest and beaches, there is nothing to do there. we climbed mt. sorrow through the rainforest and saw some creatures in there. so we continued along the very bad coastal road north to Cooktown, really nice little town far away from eveything-and a gateway to the nearby Lakeland national park with crocodiles and other annoying suff. there is really relaxed atmosphere in there. all the local men have long beards and look a bit strange as long as you don't talk to them but
oops...oops...oops...

normally, i was sleeping outside. after seeing this, i still did it, but i felt a bit uncomfortable, heh
in fact they are very cool people.
unfortunately, we ha the car break-down and we were stuck in the town for another 4 days, wayting for the car parts to be sent and the car to be fixed. after that, Jeppe and Anne wanted to leave back south but I wanted to see the festival with horseraces which takes place in Cooktown only once yearly. so we split and met after a couple of days in Noosa, thousands kms down south. I simply skipped the whole east coast as it was too touristy for my taste.

Noosa

noosa is a tasty town close to Brisbane with high-class tourism. accordingly, the prices are high, but it was a pleasant surprise. with all those river channels and waterfront houses, it reminds a bit to venice. i picked it as my last stop in australia because there are many sights and activities on offer. i had to get fit for skiing in NZ so i stayed there the whole week for mountain-biking, kayaking and jogging. and finally, i got my motorcycle and i rode it along the beach north and through the rain forrest back south.
i spent really good time at Noosa!
