Aboriginal artifacts and guide G'day everyone,
Today has been bonza.Had walk in the Daintree forest with an aboriginal guide. Ate native fruit with my kangeroo lunch. Went on a boat trip where we saw salt water crocodiles, a few beautiful kingfishers and Archer fish who can shoot it's prey off their perch with a jet of water. Also saw a python curled up on a branch only feet away. My favourite moment was spotting Australia's biggest native butterfly, the Cairns bird wing. It was enormous, with a wing span of at least 6 inches and colouring that looked artifical. I took my pic of the day but as Pat took a much better version of this butterfly I will reluctantly publish his photoThere were more lovely flowers and nature to photograph. The rain held off for most of the day as did the mosquitoes .I thought we would have had more problems than we did with insects. The rain couldn't stay away though and we walked to the restaurant under a brolley. Its been warm again but not hot. In the mid 20's.Going to the reef tomorrow. Should be another exciting day. We are having the best time.
