Little snack after the first snorkel!Hi everyone, we are currently in Cairns waiting to check in to our hostel and very tired after the best weekend ever! If you ever get to go to Oz then we would recommend this and go on the bommerang. We got Airlie Beach on the 22nd and checked in our luggage etc and made our way to the boat for 13:45. By this time we had met an Irish guy called Eddie, who lives in Melbourne and 2 English guys called Matt and Lee, who are at present travelling but may look to move to New Zealand. We all got on to the boat and met the crew - Max, Kane, Jordan and Renee. We were shown a few sailing techniques and off we went. We first of all went to Black Island and done some snorkelling. We then headed to Blue Pearl Bay and saw the sun set and had snacks and then in the evening we had our meal. We also had a few drinks with some drinking games and then slept for most of the night on the deck with the view of the milky way and the stars, perfect!
On the 23rd we woken at

Drinking games! 7am and after a quick change and freshen up we were back out for our next snorkelling trip. This was really good and saw great parts of the reef and various fish including one called priscilla and she is about 2 foot long. We then got back on the boat for fruit and off we sailed again. We then made our way to Manta Ray Bay and Stacey and Nicole went snorkelling again and this time saw Elvis who is bigger! I stayed on the boat with Kylie and Lauren (2 Canadian girls) and we topped up our tans and Kane showed us how to tie the ropes etc. We then went to Tongue Bay and done a bushwalk and we then headed to the lookout and saw the spectaular views of whitehaven. It was stunning. Turquoise sea and white sand. We headed down there and walked round the beach, took pictures and then relaxed for a few hours. We then headed back to the boat for our afternoon snack, yummy! We then sailed to Nara Inlet and saw the 2nd sunset and had our meal and yes again we had a few drinks and played the snorkel game where

This is the life! they poured goon down the snorkel and you had to drink it all before you couldnt breath! Finally on the 24th we all woke up and the diving contest began. All the lads started it with Kane and then Stacey, Nicole and a German girl joined in. They didnt do as many as the boys but they still done us proud and I took piccies! We then sailed back and Kane showed us what the boat was capable of. It was so fast and glided through the sea practically on its side. It was excellent. We then said our goodbyes and planned to meet whoever at Beaches that night. We shared a room with Kylie, Lauren and Jessica so that was good and we all had an afternoon nap and then got ready for our night out. We headed to the bar for 7pm and it was an excellent night. Most people turned up and we all exchanged details and hope to stay in touch with most people. We started at beaches for our free drinks and then went to evolution, Mamas and then back to Max's house. He was such a character and made the weekend.
Yesterday we

Whitehaven, beautiful then chilled out for most of the day and said goodbye to the girls and hopefully we all stay in touch. We then got the bus to Cairns at 8:00pm and arrived here at just gone 6am this morning. The good news though was that it was our last one! We have our day trip to the Great Barrier Reef tomorrow so we shall keep you updated after that.
