I had breakfast looking down on the pool and hot tub to which we all shared so may happy memories (non sexual tough!) with Nieke, Lotte and Oilvier (all Dutch). All of these three are going to be i NZ the same time i am so we all swapped details with the strong possability of meeting up agai there. Grant and I were on the coach to take us to Surfers Paradise by 11am both sad to say goodbye to Byron Bay. Danie being on te Premier coach service had to catch a later bus. We arrived after about 4 hours and booked into our hotel Islander which had a pool, tennis courts, squach courts and many other good features. We still had a dorm room though with 5 beds. Shortly after arriving a gave in to temptation and bought a pair of jeans and going out shoes. Sorts anf flip flops doesnt cut it in the bigger cities. We did have a laugh in one shop all trying on torpedo pipe jeans and looking stupid. We also bought some alchohol only after having to go back and get some id! Pete arrived around 5pm and it all soon became obvious that about 99% of the people in Surfers Paradise were 17-18 year old Schoolies...not good! We ended up going to a club called Bedrooms and had a good night even tough we all have never felt so old in our whole entire lives!ha

Being Surfers Paradise we tought it would be rude to not try and surf so we rented some boards from a shop along the beach. Tey tried to charge us $35 for 3 hours but we got on so well with the lady behind the couter she only charged us $10 and chucked in wet suits f.o.c! Not bad going! I think she was just pissed off wit all the schoolies as well and was relieved to talk to people her own age. She even let me have a go at waxing my own board...in the movies that always looks so cool!ha After all that the waves and current were just to strong for our hungover state and we spent two hours sleeping on the beach after an exhausting hour of fighting waves. Pete and I did have a game of Squash later o in the day to which I whipped his arse but e soo got revenge when it came to tenis. Out tenis was booked for 7.30pm. Now this tenis court is overlooked by about 50% of the hotels balconys and keeping i mind that everyone there were drunk teenagers you can oly imagine what we went trough wihle trying to play! They soon gave the four of names. Pete was Sampras, Grant was Becker, Danie was Nadal and i was Hewit. More to do with our looks tan our actual tenis abilities! It didnt help that i was playing with a baseball cap backwards. We played for a very amusing 2 hours and headed out for around 11pm. It was a good night but once again the presence of so many schoolies got annoying.

Grants mate Garry arrived in the morning from Perth and we all headed to the beach. Once again Schoolies everywhere. I spent a few ours on the internet and once again we had the tenis court booked for 5-7pm. It was a four setter but in the end Pete and Danie won. Good game though and our fans were in good form shouting from the balconys! We found a bar where we could escape the schoolies and spent the night there. We all got smashed to celebrate!

We were all suffering in the morning and didt get out of bed till 1pm. I know thats a waste but it doesnt hurt every now and then. We said goodbye to Pete and Grant, Danie and I played winner stays on in a tree way battle at tenis. I wouldnt be joking if i said that there was about 100 schoolies shouting at us from the balconys. As they got more drunk the souting turned into trowing objects and when the objects got bigger and bigger as the mintues passed we had to walk of the court. We had to laugh though when we told the receptionist. She asked which floor they were on and we just replied... "all of them!". The four of us went out for an Indian and watced tv till around 11pm. We all agreed that we were looking forward to leaving Sufers Paradise but im sure we would have liked it more if it wasnt for the thousands of schoolies. Its our fault tough, not theirs.

Grant and I were on the greyhound and the other two were on the premeir bus first thing in the morning heading to Brisbane. We were there by Ipm and checked into a 13 bed dorm with no air con or windows. We decided to go for a walk around town and i bought two new going out tops. So from now on in any going out photos you will see me wearing these...and only these. We also decided to treat ourselves to going to the cinema where we watched one of the most disturbing films i have ever seen, Halloween. I was sat in the middle of the boys which turned out to be a mistake as i get a bit jumpy when watching a scarey film so as you can imagine i got alot of stick for jumping every two seconds! From now on im only ever going to see them films with girlfriends! We had steak and mash for dinner and ended up drinking at the Tin Billys next to our hostel where the drinks were really cheap during happy hour. We ended up at the Downunder bar and had a good night out. The lack of schoolies was a great bonus as well! I did end up getting lost and had to ask a workman doing the roads for directions in the early hours of the morning. I did get to walk along the river front which was awesome at night but that was more accidental than anything.

We got woken up at 10am by the cleaners. The first thing my eyes saw was this thai girls bum about two inches away from my face bending over doing the cleaning. I didnt complain!ha We did however complain about our room since it felt like we were sleeping in a sauna and we got upgraded to our own private room with a massive en-suite normally used for the disabled. Garry and I walked to the supermarket which turned out to be a stupidly long treck (after getting some bad directions) but we did get some really healthy food for the day for everyone. We had to say goodbye to Danny as he was off to stay with a friend for a few days but he was going to catch up with us afterwards so Danny managed to hold back the tears!ha Not being alot to do in Brisbane itself the three

It was also Bobs b day.
of us decided to get a day pass to fitness first and get a sweat on. Garry being a personal trainer deided to give us a good training session and all i can say is...Grant was almost sick afterwards! It was the longest hour of my life but felt awesome afterwards. We did all sleep for quite a long time when we got back though. Our bodies are not use to that no more. But after a long sleep and some great healthy food we were in the bar that night where there was a male stripping contest. I felt sorry for the girls as only 5 men entered and they were all...well lets just say they are not going to make stripping a new career! Some girls did come up to me at the bar and ask me to take part but they were slightly tipsy and seeing the lads doing it i think Tony Blair could of done a better job! We decided to go to the Downunder bar again as there was a wet t shirt competition on but by the time we got there the queue was massive so we gave it a miss and ended up walking around the city till 2am. Even though we got back late we sat up talking for ages having deep and meaningful conversations. I think we are all considering turning gay as we all seem to love each others company!ha Only joking girls...you still have a chance with me if you play your cards right!ha

We all got our buses in the morning and headed to Noosa where we booked into the YHA for three nights. This guest house was set in great surroundings. Garry and I rented some surf boards and took them to the beach where we surfed all day. Grant laid in the sun for about five hours without even dipping a toe in the sea. We surfed all day and it was Garrys first time so he loved every second of it! I loved watching him getting wiped out every 2 seconds! I was feeling a few aches from the training session and i think thats the reason why Grant wasnt moving from his towel. He was almost paralised! We went out that night with a few people from our hostel to the Rolling Rock but once again we found ourselves surrounded by tonnes of schoolies. Had a good night still but there is no escaping them!

We had a nice sleep in till 11am and booked our tickets for the Australian Zoo for the next day which just happened to be Bobs birthday. Bob is the son of the legend Steve Irwin so it was going to be a special day. We went down to the beach and then met up with Danny later on. The re-union was a emotional one!ha Later on we played table tenis to which everyone takes so serious as we are all at the same level. We went to another bar but i decided to give the drink a miss and stayed on the water all night. Did get to see some amazingly good looking promotion girls though so it was worth going out! We were back by midnight after speaking to some more schoolies and decided to go home early.

We were on the Zoo bus at 8.30am waiting for Danny to get his arse into gear! He made it just in time. I have never met anyone as laid back as him before! During the hour bus journey you watch a special edition of the crocidile hunter series to pass the time and to get you excited about going into the legendary zoo. It works as well since by the time we got there we were all acting like excited six year olds! The day as a whole was great and the zoo itself might not be the biggest in the world but it definately has Steve Irwins touch of brilliance about it. The enthusiasm of all the staff and the interaction with the animals in the zoo was world class. Also getting to sing happy birthday to Bob in the famous croc stadium was a awesome experience. We got back by 5pm and all headed straight to bed for a power nap. As all nights with no plans it ended up being an awesome night. At first Garry and I started playing beer pong with three ozzy ladies and before long there was about 15 people wanting to participate. Before long we replaced the beer glasses with beer jugs and people were downing their drinks every few minutes. This was my first experience of beer pong but i know that this drinking game is going to have a major role in my drinking life from now on. The best drinking game to bless this earth! Garry and i won 4 games in a row which was the record for the night equalled by Danny and Grant funny enough. Them three went off to the Kuala Bar and i decided to stick with the others and wandered off to another bar a bit later on. We got to the main club to late to get in so we all just sat by the beach for a while. So not only did this day bring me magic memories form the Australian Zoo but it welcomed me to beer pong...there is a god!ha

We all had to check out of our rooms in the morning and change rooms due to them being so busy. Danny and i still ended up being in the same room but the others were seperated. They didnt complain though since they were sharing with girls. We played some more table tenis before spending the day down at the beach. We got back and suprise suprise in the evening we played...yep, table tenis. We all thought we were getting really good and our confidence were sky high until two ozzy blokes joined in...they kicked our arse! We spent the whole entire time standing 10 ft back from the table just trying to return their shots! We spent the night just sitting on the balcony soaking up the relaxing atmosphere. There was a fair few of us as well so it made sitting in the candle light under the stars feel ok to be single! Some places like this though you cant help to think that it would be even better spending it with someone you have strong feelings for but luckily for me there are lots of single people travelling alone thats makes you realise your not a wierdo being 27 and single!
We were off to Rainbow beach in the morning which is where you get the ferry accross to Frasier Island and following that we were going to sail around the Whitsundays for a few days. We were all really excited about the days to come. It was going to be an action packed week to come with guaranteed laughs! The Eastern Coast just seems to get better and better and it helps travelling with awesome company. The people you spend your time with provides more happy memories than the place itself. The place your in is just a fantasic added bonus!
