Well, here we are with a month to go and my anxiety levels are at an all time high! The training is not as frequent as it should be as we have had 2 moves and some sick children, not to mention Trev being away so we are hoping for a quiet period to get completely geared to go. Somehow going for a hike at oxygen rich sea level seems like a cop out and we discuss the effects of high altitude and to what extent we are going to be affected constantly. We head to Brisbane next week for the last of our shopping then Trev is off on the 1 April with only 1 or 2 days at home before we go. He is flying to Kathmandu before me for business so i shall meet up with him on 24 April. Below is our scheduled itinerary:
24-Apr Arrive in Kathmandu, overnight Dwarika Hotel
25-Apr Fly to Lukla and trek to Monjo, overnight Everest Summit Lodge 2850m
26-Apr Trek to Namche, overnight Zhamling Guest House 3450m
27-Apr Rest day in Namche, overnight Zhamling Guest House 3450m
28-Apr Trek to Tashinga, overnight Everest Summit Lodge 3450m
29-Apr Trek to Pangboche, overnight Everest Summit Lodge 3940m
30-Apr Trek to Dingboche, overnight local lodge 4350m
1-May Acclimatize in Dingboche, overnight local lodge 4350m
2-May Trek to Lobuche, overnight Himalayan Chain Resort 4910m
3-May Trek to EBC, back to Gorakshep, overnight local lodge 5160m
4-May Trek to Kalapathar and back to Lobuche, overnight Himalayan Chain Resort 4910m
5-May Trek to Pangboche, overnight Everest Summit Lodge
6-May Trek to Namche, overnight Zhamling Guest House
7-May Trek to To Lukla, overnight Everest Summit Lodge
8-May Fly to Kathmandu, overnight Dwarika Hotel
9-May Final departure
