and the most generous with the tasting. A bit of an overwhelming start to the day.
Over the weekend, 10 of us piled into 3 cars and drove the 3 1/2 hours to Stanthorpe, a quiet country town, located in the Granite Belt, in which I'm convinced the entire economy revolves around vinyards and wineries. We had a relatively quiet games night on Friday, saving up for the big tour on Saturday.

We were picked up at 9:30, while still eating our breakfast, forget morning coffee, there was wine to be drank! We loaded up the van and I think instantly intimidated the other 2 couples, probably hoping for a nice romantic weekend, with our our loud, highly enthusiastic and obnoxious conversation. To be honest, I don't even remember how many wineries we visited in all, but it must have been about 10. One of the stops was a liquer shop where they made "Dragon's crap" and "Dragon's piss" liquer. They had every flavour you could imagine. There was also a stop at a cidery, but the rest was wine. We made it very clear to our driver what we were there for, and he didn't disappoint. evening, with more games around the table. Sunday was a lazy day of playing cards and watching a DVD.

So, not sure if you can get them at home, but definitely check out the Granite Belt Wine Region, especially Lucas Estate and Summit Estate wines.
