Our Fraser Island Group
ALl you good good people... Hola cicos y cicas. Que tal?
I am officially sweet! Life has been absolutely amazing over the past few weeks (sorry to rub it in to you guys working in those hot and sweaty offices back home) but it has!! From 1770 we headed to Hervey Bay where we were set to embark on a mini adventure!!
Arriving at the hostel we had booked, we were quietly disappointed that we were staying on a Caravan Park- our room was a caravan attached to a solid, room- interesting but was ok for a night! At night we were to watch the FA Cup Final, and due to Stevie G's wonder strike and the penalty shootout, we got about zero sleep (thats a lie- about 4 hrs!). I do believe it was this lack of sleep that caused Mike to stall our van (4x4) twice, or it could of been the fact he got the brake and accelerator confused, the mild mannered muppet!! We caught the boat to Fraser Island and off we went on our way. The next 3 days were awesome, driving around over mudtracks, cruising along the beaches, camping and cooking as a group of 17 people. The

Photo opportunity infront of shipwreck on Fraser Island group was cool- so many different nationalities and besides a crazy Canadian guy who just ran everywhere, we all got on. The highlight for me was when I was driving, cruising along a beautiful stretch of beach at about 10am, with the sun bearing down, waves crashing in and we were all listening (and singing) to the Beach Boys-yes ok Ill admit it, I shouldnt dance and drive, but the good vibrations got to me!!! We visited the most gorgeous beach i have ever been to at Lake McKenzie- the water is so pure you can actually drink it. No joke of a lie but it is nearly perfect- only missing the topless bathers!! Indian Point was a massive cliff jutting out from the beach and held some stunning views. I had to drive up to a carpark behind this area, across really fine sand, which meant I had to absolutely rag it up in an extra powerful low gear. Felt like I was COlin Mcrae as I raced up the sandbank, with the rear of the van sliding everywhere.
Another major highlight was visiting the Champagne Pools, an area of rock pools which has sea water rushing in

Views to die for! and bubbling like Champers. However, young Mike thought it be funny to leave a picture of a massive penis in the sand, so it was the first thing you see as you turn round the cliff- Michael- I thought it was rather crude- "leave nothing with memories eh"!! Overall, the whole trip was unbelievably fantastic and comes a close second behind the diving as the best thing Ive done. Trip ended I was knackered, but we met some amazing people and had a superb experience (im running out of superlatives here- it was bloody good though!). Ive added a few photos here so hope you enjoy them.
After Fraser Island the next day we headed to Noosa- caught the worst bus journey as the driver was being a nobhead and I was very hungover! We arrived in an absolute downpour with no hostel in mind but eventually found one and slept!! The past 5-6 nights I had at most 5 hours sleep due to football or drinking related activities. This night was no sifferent as we HAD to get up at 4.30am to watch Arsenal lose in the CHampions League Final. This lack of sleep and football could be
The boys
Standing infront of our 4 x 4 a hinderance for the world cup, although I saw these 2 events as merely training for the big event (only 2 weeks to go...!)
We spent a few days in Noosa generally just relaxing and chilling. The weather was pretty awful, but the bonus was that Chris and Sarah (who he met on the Fraser trip) found this fantastic apartment that sleeps five- it had everything- TV, DVD player, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and dining table and even a dishwasher! And it cost exactly the same (when divided out between the 5 of us) as the shit hole hostel across the road- good business I say! We even had free washing machine and dryer so in the end it worked out better! The 2 nights we had there we rustled up (or rather Sarah did!) a feast- was like a small dinner party and we even invited out Irish beauty Jess over, who we met earlier on in the trip in Airlie Beach. Class in a glass!!
Post Noosa, we headed to Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland. This city really is dull. I took no photos as there basically was not a lot to do there. We did
Where are we?
Classic pose! have a day or two wandering around the Botanical gardens and the riverside, which has a mini lagoon attached to makeshift beach, but other than that- DULL GULL!!
From Brisbane we caught a short bus ride to our home for the apst 4 days Surfers Paradise. This place is a massive holiday resort mainly aimed at Backapackers but still ace. The beach is fantastic and the nightlife similar. We spent an afternoon getting a tan (!) playing beach volleyball with our German friends wheo we had coincednetally met there, who we know from our Whitsundays sailing trip. It has been a bit like this all along, meeting random people along the way who you had previously! That night we also had a "bit of a gathering" at their apartment drinking cheap red wine before heading out and really showing the Germans how to dance. Chris and Will were on top form, but I do believe it was my fancy footwork that stole the show! Yesterday we headed to a waterpark (still a bit drunk from the previous night's exploits!) where we enjoyed racing down water slides and chilling in warm spas!!
Overall, the past few weeks have been
View along the beach from our van
See the shipwreck in the distance- goonies style!! a bit non-stop. Fraser Island was brilliant and Ive really enjoyed Surfers too. We head to Byron Bay tomorrow for a bit more relaxation, before Sydney and the World Cup. The humungous fella named Dan Holtby will be entertaining us with his presence in about 10days so we are currently busy preparing all our fat jokes to unleash on the chuffer!!
Hope life is as good back home and Ill try and write more often!!
Ciao for now

Liar Liar bums on fire!
Top blog JJ, though it seems your memory is a little patchy- It was YOU who thought it'd be hilarious to draw a massive cock and balls in the sand while the rest of us looked on in horror! Shot through the heart and your to blame you give the English bad name! (Was great banter though)
