Quilpie was a much larger town than we’ve been in recently with a population of 650. Quilpie comes from an aboriginal word for Curlew. We were excited to find a supermarket but unfortunately the limited fresh produce still tastes like cardboard. An evening spent with the telescopes was very informative. We had high expectations of being able to see colours of the planets but they were small and silver.

Dave was able to get a better picture of Venus with his camera, than the high powered telescopes. Anyway heading South now to find a camp spot where we can spot the constellations whilst we sit by the camp fire. Looking forward to leaving town.
