We get picked up from outside our hostel at 7.10am. We pick some more passengers up from other hostels along the way.
First we enjoy a scenic coastal drive to Port Douglas via the Captain Cook Highway. We stop at a lookout and take photos of the view (absolutely beautiful).
Next stop - The Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary. This is where we first encounter the cassowary. We are able to take advantage of the guided tour around the koala, python and baby croc (although its mouth was taped together - not good) We then have just over an hour to explore by ourselves.
Mossman Gorge - first a walk through the rainforest then a swim in Mossman River.
Lunchtime - we have a picnic and chat with the guide about kayaking, rafting and triathlon!
We have been booked on the Daintree River Cruise where we will hopefully spot crocodiles! Result we spot 3 babies - we were later told nothing has been seen here for 8 weeks. We also talk about the Mangrove trees.
As an extra treat we stop at a fruit farm - where all the unusual, exotic fruit is turned into ice-cream.
We each had a bowl consisting of 4 different flavours - it was yummy!
We arrived at the beach house and were given our private double for both nights instead of just the one!
Had some food and played pool, dominoes and connect 4!
