The girls in front of the Big Cat Catamaran
25th October 2012,

The girls woke really really early this morning, (even Sasha) as they were really excited to being going to Green Island on the Great Barrier Reef. We departed the reef terminal in Cairns on the Green Island Big Cat at 9am. The day was slighly overcast and the ocean a bit choppy. Many people were sea sick, including Alyssa and myself. The one hour trip across seemed longer, and it was. We arrived at Green Island about 10.30am. We disembarked to amazing views and calm, clear waters. As we walked along the jetty, we could see fish and turtles swimming. We strolled through this beautiful Island and learnt about its history. Green Island Island is home to the largest crocodile ever caught in Australia. He is Cassius and he measures 5.48 meters long.

After our walk, we boarded the semi-submersible glass boat and went on a 30 minute guide of reef. An experience none of us will ever forget. Sasha and Alyssa both spotted Nemo and Dory and the variety of fish swimming past was amazing. We returned to the Big Cat for a buffet lunch and then raced to the beach. We snorkled for almost

2 hours! The water was warm and clear, with so much to see. The day went by so quick, we didn't want to leave. Reality kicked in and we had to board the Big Cat back to Cairns.

Awesome day!!!

P.S (Alyssa and I were not sick on the way back, Yeah!!!)

The water looks so nice....
Hi guys, great to chat the other day and hear more about your adventures, snorkelling around the reef would of been great (in between the vomiting anyway!) although I would of been a bit cautious about running into cassius!!

Green Island in the Great Barrier Reef was amazing, even though Alyssa and I thought the trip on the big Cat could have been better
