At mission beach
me, ange and caroline Hiya everyone, at last ive been able to get to a computer
So from mission beach we headed to Cairns and stopped off at a croc park, where i held a 2m long python (oh yes, i didnt enjoy it, but luckily ange came to my rescue and held it with me - i do have photos to prove this). We were also able to hold a croc baby - it was really cool!! They took us round and showed us croc feeding, and while this was going on the Emu and dog were playing chase behind us, it was really funny to watch (i have piccies of this too). We got into Cairns and went out for a nice chinese meal to say goodbye to all the girlies which was lovely!! The next day was the start of scuba school, ange did it the first day but didnt like it, so i had to carry on without her sniff sniff. So two days in the classroom learning all the theory with 5 short multiple qu tests and then one big 50 qu multiple qu test!! I passed yay!! So then the next three days were spent on the boat
me and the baby croc
let u into a lil secret - its mouth was taped shut - a relief!! on the outer barrier reef, wow it was amazing. It was definately my most favourite part of the whole trip. The boat was cool, we had our own little cabin, it was very cute, and the food they served was great - we did not go hungry, we had cake every day - choc, plain, choc and pineapple with choc custard - we were in our element (oh but of course it was the scuba diving which we loved the trip for, not the food at all - hehe). First day we did our 2 dives for our skills (saw two stingrays - one was hiding in the sand and one was swimming around) - i was buddy with a lovely german girl Linda and our buddy name was PINK LADIES. That night we star watched - the brightest stars ever - you could even see them twinkling!! I was trying to spot a shooting star which was suppposed to be really easy - everyone was seeing them and i kept missing them, so gave up and went in, apparently no sooner had i done that they saw one - surprise surprise!! The next day we did two more dives
Photo with the snake no. 1
look how my face changes throughout these piccies and then we were certified - i can now dive anywhere in the world to a depth of 18m - exciting!!! It was so amazing diving on the reef - its like a little underwater city. The next dive we did was our first one by ourselves, this time i was buddy with Karlyn she was scottish. It was cool diving by ourselves until we found we got a bit lost and that i had forgotten how to navigate back to the boat - then we got a bit worried, so were swimming around hoping we were going in the right direction and then thankfully we found it - woohoo!! On this dive we saw a pufferfish, huge butterfly fish. That night we did a NIGHT DIVE, just before going in the water they played JAWS music - weren't they lovely - hehe!!It was really exciting, it wasnt scary at all, the water was nice and warm and we had our torches at the ready. So down we went into the murky depths (hehe, are u liking my story telling). We saw Brian the turtle who is actually a girl, she was asleep in her cave and she is massive,
we also saw a shark swim by and lobsters, it was a really cool experience!! This night did not go well though, Linda (my preveious buddy) got stung by a jellyfish - the tentacles got wrapped round her arm. So they all rushed around trying to sort her out, it was really worrying cos she was in so much pain, they started to drive the boat back to Cairns or to a floating helipad, but then she stablised and so we stayed on the reef that night, but in the morning she wasnt better and the doctor wanted to see her so we had to go back early so missed out on our last dive 😞. So wen we got into Cairns she went to hospital and im not sure what happened after that!! (i had also got stung up my arm - but only because i had part of a jelly fish tentacle on my wetsuit so i got stung when i was pulling it inside out, but it was ok cos the bloke said aslong as i felt ok then it was no problem cos it wasnt a big sting, but u could see where it had stung
me - i also got it on my nose too - not sure how - u know me miss scatty). So anyway on the third day (before we had to go back to cairns) luckily we were able to dive in the morning, i took an underwater camera down with us and got some really cool piccies under the sea. Man was it hard though trying to take good photos and remeber to breathe (hehe) and remeber your buoyancy, so bare with me on the piccies. This dive was the best ever - we saw 4 turtles, really close up, 2 sharks, nemo, angel fish, massive clam and swam through this big coral swim through - like a tunnel out of the coral!! Arek the dive supervisor came down with us so he knew all the good spots to go to!!
From our boat trip on the reef we then went upto Cape tribulation on a tour. We went to Mossman gorge, and walked through the south of the daintree - paddling in the nice swimming hole there. We also went croc spotting on the daintree river, and saw one croc on the banks and another baby one in
the weeds. We stopped off at Cape Kimberley where the sea was soooo warm!! We licked some green ants bums - more bush tucker stuff, it tasted of lemon and lime. Arrived at Cape tribulation, stayed in a hostel rith in the rainforest which was cool. Went on another boat trip out to the reef, and did some more diving, and saw lots more stuff. And then the next day we did an hours walk up and down hills to see emmagen creek, and vedged there for a bit, and then walked bcak and it was time to go back to Cairns.
Next day we left for Darwin, our flights were so good - we had a lovely lunch yummy!!! Had a bit of turbulence, but all went well. Now here in Darwin, wandered round today exploring and went to the Saturday market. Last night we went to the cinema to see DEATH AT A FUNERAL which was o funny - i recommend it!! Tomorrow we head off on our 2 day kakdu safari, then its down for our tour down the middle. We will be in Adelaide on 21st November - WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!
LOtsa love and kisses, miss
Ok, im not liking it so much now
Look who joined us, can u see the croc between mine and anges head? Im looking so scared because when i first turned my head and saw it i thought it was another snake!! After this i was quite ok to have it off me!! u all lots and lots xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Jeolousy is a horrible trait. Why would you force it on me? Poo in your shoes!!! Hope you're having an awesome time though. p.s. Vanathy misses you lots. She always asks about you. oh and yes you do look like a shrimp. Nothing to do with the scuba gear though! :-) x Sam
